With us beating Blackburn Rovers 7-1, can Stockport City get a win today to keep up?

Pressure is on...!!!

The difference was Rooney linking play up again. Nani was very good apart from wasting a couple of runs with late crosses - theres still a lot of problems with his decision making esp when we're trying to win harder games Nani kills me with his tendency to run too far with the ball, stop, stare at the two defenders who have now caught up with him... stationary stepovers, then lose the ball.

have to comment on this post about scholes too...

"but these days without space, he can't play .. and teams are beginning to know that and they give him close marking forcing him to play rubbish."

From what i've seen this season we always have a better game with scholes on the pitch - if the other team have two players close marking i guess that means he still a threat doesnt it. Pass accuracy and rate is still up there with the best.

Re. scholesclass (U13784546)

Yes, have to agree with most of what you say. I think the point about Scholes was put the wrong way round - it is precisely because he is so influential still that teams try to harry him; and since his stats are amazing still, they are right to worry but are not generally succeeding. The way people criticise United for not having replacehim is equally perverse: he could walk onto the majority of sides without question. Yes, we all want someone to step up and clearly be ready to take over, but he is still a top player and he is still doing a superb job except... I have to be honest and say I simply don't understand why he still makes those tackles, since he is now even more likely to get booked because he is a yard slower. And I close my eyes whenever he goes near an opposition player who has the ball...

C2G, scholes makes those tackles on purpose to scare, and disrupt the opponent.

Scholes is a 2nd squad player, he is not first choice, he hasnt been for the past 4 years, and wont be ever again a first team choice. Michael Carrick is first choice midfield and he showed why vs blackburn.

I would like to say Anderson played amazingly well, his best performance for man united by far.

Well, he doesn't scare... but in any case, that doesn't answer my question. Why does he do it? It damages the teams and himself - I can't remember a tackle made by him which helped United. He has the worst discipline record in the club this year.

As for '2nd squad' - I don't even understand what that means. He has made 16 appearances this season, Carrick has made 14.

should we win anything this season, we'll look back on this day as where our season really got started.

yeah i think your right anderson was absolutely amazing yesterday. Still needs to work on him shooting but very promising. I thought he had blown his chances as there was a lot of talk about us selling him

Scholes only played instead of Carrick when Carrick was injured.

Fantastic performance with all involved playing better. Andersons best performance by a mile. Berba was superb and our wayne looked eager to please once again. About time as we all know but a great start for the rest of the season....
