Ray Wilkins has left Chelsea after the board decided not to renew his contract.

I personally am really sad to see him leave. Y do you think he has left and who will come in as assistant?

Cheers Butch for your work, you're Chelsea Legend

Its simple. If you are going to sack someone as pivotal as Ray then dont do it in the middle of the season when everyone needs to focus. Better hope he was not doing much or this will impact.
I would suggest now there is a cost cutting exercise on the board of directors and others who probably are not needed as much as they like to think. Cut their wages or sack a few?
I am sorry for the players and manager too as well as all the fans because we all know it should be done better than this or not at all.
Respect and dignity and not in mid season. After all Ray is a legend.
So with all this dumping of players and now Ray can the club now win something? I hope so or the board will remember what they did as others certainly well.

What do you have to do to stay in a job? I think Chelsea have back-stabbed one of its most loyal, hard-working and honest members of their staff. I do not believe that any of the Management/Directors have even one ounce of these qualities. Blues supporters should show their disgust at the next home game.
Ray was a respected player and now a successful Asst. Manager. What more can you ask for. Obviously, the Chelsea Board know better?

flagmarket

How do the Chelsea fans put up with an English Premier team that for the most part fields seven or eight foreign players every week, and by foreign I mean non British.
=======================

and your favourite player is listed as good old British..... Ronaldo

Um.... learn to read before you embarrass yourself again. He wasn't sacked - his contract was up for renewal and it wasn't renewed. Simple really - if you can't be bothered to look up the definition of sacked, I'll happily oblige by using the word in a true life example;

"A Man United employee has been sacked after wearing a green and gold scarf last Wednesday."

Mixed messages coming out of SW6.

First it was believed Ancellotti supported Wilkins sacking on the basis that now his English was up to par he didn't need boring old Butch any more and wanted a big name Italian alongside him, Zola maybe, even Maldini perhaps.

But now it seems he may have wanted to keep Wilkins and that Roman has gone back into 'execution' mode.

So basically the media are saying all kinds of rubbish because they have no idea what has happened. The scattergun approach, if they come up with loads of different stories theres a chance one of them might be right.

Wilkins was a fixture and at least in public supported the club decisions.
I believe this was a poor decision on the clubs part.
It makes me wonder who is next to go.
