After seeing Alan Hutton score a wonderstrike at the weekend, would you now say he's world class?

Is Mancini turning into Wenger or Fergie? Even a man who knows nothing about football could see that it was a red!

shame about boletelli for the derby - fancy him as city's cantona who'll be utd's bogeyman and then the league'll take notice

"one rule for united and one rule for the rest again.....ferdinand was allowed to play in the semi last year after being sent off, pending appeal that was not heard until the thursday...funny how mario's appeal was today!!"

For a start, I DO AGREE with you, even as a Manchester United fan.

However, is this not because of the FA's quick appeal process ?

I do agree though, last year we abused the appeal process so Rio could play, however I do think that the FA need some consistency.

Fifa won't allow the use of technology because they don't want to undermine the authority of referees. However, given the different treatment of almost identical incidents involving Huddlestone and Balotelli (and the inevitable criticism) don't they think they are guilty of undermining the referees in a far greater manner?

There's no consistency with the FA, not on the pitch, or in outcome of their meetings.

I wonder if Opta stats for referees are passed on to the FA, and if so, what they do with them

He's right up there with Glen Johnson, both in attack, and in defense

How's Lucas doing as Alonso's replacement?

**********************

Lucas isn't a replacement for Alonso, but Lucas is doing really well actually.

I know he's regarded as a joke by some opposing fans, but his attitude is excellent and his performances are getting better with each game.

He was immense against Chelsea, absolutely brilliant.

Good to hear it, I only heard bad things about him from my Liverpool supporting friends, "Not fit to wear the shirt" is what they normally say

Fair play if he's turned it around, some players need a long time to settle into the pace of the premier league

That was a harsh red card and I think that was the referee trying to mak ea name for himself. Balotelli is a wonderful talent and he will learn from this but he will not be teh sam player without the fiery temperament. You can bet if that was Wayne Rooney at the same age the referee would have just told him calm it down or your off, but because of what the referee has heard and it is a black player he wants to be seen to be tough. That reda car for any player of any ability or colour was not warranted. Once again the inconsistency of English referees and their mediocrity is there for the world to see. The FA are a disgrace. They remind me of George Bush latest interview when he says in a cold blooded manner that to have any regrets about invading Iraq under the pretence of looking for WMD would have been an admission of being wrong. The FA still have inflexible manner of doing things.
