Blackburn - Chelsea

Blackburn Rovers
comment on the article

What a first half and what a performance by the lads. Never been prouder to be a Rovers fans. This match reminds me of last season's carling cup match. First off i will mention Benjani. He will have a his critics not everyone wanted him here. I have to say he has given one heck of a performance today and has taken a big step towards winning me over. He has never stopped chasing the ball, he works hard and was able to put away a good header. El Diouf my god what a season he is having. This has been by ar the best outing i have seen from him in a Rovers shirt. His crosses throughout this match pin point accuracy. Samba seem's like a spartan warrior throwing his body to block shots, tackling and tacking and tackling headering away using his strength incredibly well. Emerton seem's to having a great match today and seems to be thriving with his nice and neet touches. Hoping to see an improvement from Pedersen in the second half and Mame Biram Diouf. But if not no complaints! Thank you Big Sam we are seeing some nice footbal and given Chelsea a good run for their money. Keep up the performance in the second half!

Fair ply to Blackburn, they ripped up the form book and came out to play football and used all their assets to the fullest except the finishing. Chelsea will be delighted with todays point as it seems Spurs heavily depleted, are going to do the annual rollover at United

Champions come from sides who win even when they are not on top form.
Why can't England have a home grown manager, like big Sam for instance.
Well done Blackburn.

This fixture ended 1-1 last season, so no surprise it was not a walk in the park. But Chelsea are now eight points up on where they were last year after the same matches.

It made lots of difference wheb your target nan can hold the ball and lay it off, well played Benjani but tbh i would have liked to have had Nico introduced instead of Dunny.

Really impressed with Blackburn. When we scored at the end it was definitely a relief rather than feeling it was what we deserved. It really could have gone either way today and a reversal of the scoreline would not have flattered Blackburn.
If you keep up those performances you should have a great season.

From a Chelsea point of view we have looked suspect away from home and this win is exactly what we need to get a bit of belief back.

Our games against Blackburn are never easy and they are always a good old scrap. You have to admit when you're lucky and we were lucky yesterday but at the end of the day it was nice to score a few goals away from home. Well done to both teams.

Indeed that was the impresssion I got from watching the game. We played well but a lack of quality up top let us down. Hugely impressed with how we played and hope that we don't get knocked by the setback and lose confidence from that. If Roberts had buried that chance - and he did everything else right in the move...

Can I just say it proved that that is how we should be playing - a 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 at will rather than this antiquated 4-4-2 with two supporting wingers able to crowd the midfield but also support the attack at will. Both big Diouf and baby Diouf seemed to relish that and were even able to interchange at will.

One more thing - Chelsea fans on 606 prove themselves (once more) the most magnamanous set of fans we usually face. applause

It's great to have a manager like Ancellotti because he is a good role model for all Chelsea supporters. He gives credit to other teams when it's due, doesn't snipe at officials or other managers and is respectful to all. Blackburn were unlucky yesterday and played good football that had everything from pressure, pace to slick and intelligent movement..they almost out chelsea'd Chelsea. I'm certain they won't go down if they continue and will more than likely move to mid table by christmas. Wolves were equally difficult last week and proved it wasn't a once off by beating City yesterday. Hopefully performances like those of West Brom, Wolves and Blackburn will serve to give confidence to those travelling to places like Old Trafford where many feel the game is over before it starts.....you can't succeed if you don't believe. Blackburn believed yesterday as did Chelsea, we probably just had a little more quality going forward.
