Escape clause for Reina and Torres

Liverpool

Apparently Nando Torres and Pepe Reina have escape clauses within their contract which will allow them to leave the club come January. I’m not sure how much truth there is in the matter but it wouldn’t surprise me if such a clause existed. After John Henry insisted there will be no big marquee signing, this appears to be the last straw for the two Spaniards..

Question is if we get around £40m for Torres and £20m for Reina, who could we get in to replace possibly 2 out of the 3 most important players for Liverpool?

Why does Hodgson constantly feel the need to talk up potential transfers from Liverpool to Man Utd, is he labouring under the impression that we are a feeder club? I know that he's saying that we don't want to sell Reina or Torres but why keep responding to idle chit chat and propelling non-stories into the media? You're WAY out of your depth Roy...walk.

He got slated a week or so ago when Torres was linked and he tried to shrug it off. It would get slated if he said nothing. Now you are complaining about telling to Man Utd, and inparticular Ferguson, to take a run and jump.

Quite simply then, Roy can't win doh

And just for the record, I am not a Roy lover and I agree that he should be replaced since he is out of his depth, evn though I do not like to see managers sacked so soon!

I take your point about Hodgson being damned if he does and damned if he doesn't respond to gossip...but where is this gossip? He seems to be generating it himself.

Why does roy keep trying to involve Man Utd in his babblings. He is starting to sound like rafa when he was losing it.
First he says Utd want sicknote Torres now he says we want pepe "but have made no approach for him yet. Roy is losing the plot.

yorlooprevil68...

To be fair pal, if you search hard enough I bet you could find a link for everyone of our players somewhere ok

Reina was being linked by the papers earlier in the week. No quotes or anything from Man Utd or Ferguson though, tells you everything you need to know really winkeye

Have you actually seen the game or highlights?

Yes but why does Hodgson feel the need to respond EVERY SINGLE TIME?

Why does he bring up Torres's form when he's asked a completely different question?

Why does he keep referring to himself getting manager of the year in May?

Why does he keep talking about his own position. Roy, button it and get on with your job...hang on, he's has been doing that and we're in the bottom three. Take some responsibility...you're the manager!!!! Just not good enough.

They say if a man feels the need to respond in football, then they are under pressure.

With some of the odd comments he has come out with recently, it certainly looks like it.
