Shades of Klinsmann anyone?

Premier League Tottenham Hotspur

Rafael Van der Vaart has been on fire this week. A great piece of skill and a volleyed goal in the Champions League. Numerous shots, skill and now a headed equaliser again Villa. Clearly a different style of player from our talismanic striker Jurgen Klinsmann from years gone by but there are some similarities in his ability to find a shot from nowhere, control the ball and literally win a game single handedly.

Fantastic player. I just hope we don't rely too heavily on him this season whilst our strikers appear to be lacking in confidence.

COYS for the second half!!!

Van der Vaart lookin like the deal of the summer now. Was wary at the start because I thought surely Real hadn't stockpiled to the extent where they could sell a third world class player in little over a year but there you go! He looks the business and as a United fan I'm lookin at Spurs envious of your playmaker situation; VDV and Modric not to mention the threats of Bale and Lennon. As for overrelying on him, every team needs a talisman (Drogba, Rooney, Torres etc.) guys who can pull you out of a tough situation and VDV looks like he can do that so I wouldn't be worried. Just gotta hope those around him can pull their weight and that your forwards make use of the chances that your midfield is sure to create

I actually cant believe roy hodgson didnt try and snap this guy up after he actually said we were one of the clubs he would move to. Ah well, good win for spurs, if you guys can keep winning after your champions league games i can see you having quite a season!

I think every manager around the top leagues are kicking themselves right now.

Quality player, looks like he is far to good for Real.

I complained about fergie not trying to sign him and got told not to play FM. I cant see any reason at all we didnt sign him, we spent the same on 3 untested players and we desperately need an attacking mid.

I think its a pride thing about not buying players who have already made thier name at another club=\

I'm glad van der Vaart left to the PL to play for Tottenham. Real has no respect for their players and i'm glad van der Vaart is doing good for Tottenham. I hope that in the future no Dutch player is going to Real anymore after knowing how they treated Robben, Sneijder and van der Vaart. You also can't buy a team like they do....spending millions and millions and still playing like an old sock.

I also expected van der Vaart to go to Liverpool or ManU, but Tottenham made a very good move to take him away from Madrid. Congrats Tottenham and i hope you can enjoy him still for a long time. I like it to see that Crouch and van der Vaart are a good couple together.

At last, in Van der Vaart I think we have a man with that Dave Mackay spirit. Harry, you're a diamond. Before I die, I must see Spurs as Champions!
