Tough To Take!

Premier League Manchester United
comment on the article

It really is hard to take the result today after the delight of yesterdays results. The attacking power of united this season has actually been quite impressive in my opinion. 16 goals in 6 games is a great return. The problem now is quite clearly the defence. Johnny Evans is good at times, but to be honest the guy should be playing for a team like bradford city. Once rio is back i reckon that's when we will start winning games away from home. Owen hargreaves is also close to full fitness and will be a much needed boost to the midfield.

The other issue is wayne rooney. This man needs to be dropped, it is like playing with 10 men at the moment. He must be dropped for the valencia game!

Bruce Buck

I'd like to think we can. We've already had those 90 minutes of anguish against Rangers, and the creativity of Nani, Berba and Scholes would play against Citeh, so I doubt we'd have a repeat performance. Plus, I doubt Citeh would pay us the 'respect' they paid you and might attack us a bit more.

Yeh, but Arsenal were pure gash on Saturday.

true forget arsenal.

yeh they might attack you a bit more. fair play to city. they got the job done. but at the cost of an exciting game to watch. i still think the best games to watch are man utd arsenal and chelsea arsenal. because arsenal get shown up too easily LOL.

Regardin our 442. its ok for home games when we are in control and teams aim to defend. but in a derby like bolton u need to mobile midfielders to get up and down. scholes has been awesome but unfortunately he can't do this and leaves us open to a counter attack

I think we are being too hard on ourselves. Let's just relax. We have injuries and yet, we are doing okay. Valencia, Carrick, Rio Ferdinand, Hargreaves, Brown e.t.c. We, Man United, are like fine wine. We get better with age. We have only played six games and are only 3 points adrift. Next week, we could be one point adrift with a win and a tie between Chelsea and ARsenal. There is really nothing to worry about this early in the journey. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the show. SAF knows how to get it done.

On another note, is SAF buying ATl Madrid's keeper De Gea? That sounds like a good move.
-------------------------Really nice and sensible post. Wish I could be upbeat as you are. REally hoping that next week, something magnificent happens. Yes its early days but remember these lost points could cost us dearly as it seem we are destined to play the chasing game. I hope we can sort ourselves out and be a force to be reckoned with like we were once were. I am still ill after yesterday's performance. I dont suspect there will be an opportunity like this ever again throughout the rest of the season. One saddened united fan.

Most of you keep saying that we won things with these players and came second with these players.

Of course we came second with these players but please bear in mind that players like Scholes etc are an year older too and please do not forget that other teams have bought and improved as well while we are standing still.
Some will say Chelsea have not bought any new players but they have a fit Essien back and if have a fit Rio and a fit OH back we would not be in this position.
But players like Park and O'Shea cannot be regulars and hope to win much. Simply, they are not good enough to compete at the very top level.
O'Shea's biggest problem is his lack of ball control in passing the ball. He gives possession away too much and if he can sort that out, he may become a decent player.

Park is different. He used to work very hard in the past but he does not do that anymore.
He does not run and chase in any way now that is useful to the team. If he runs even like a headless chicken and harass the opposition then he can do a job but he does not do that anymore.

It was him who left Petrov yesterday. He should have been sprinting after Petrov the moment Petrov made that cross field pass to the right and ran forward towards our box.

im just laughing at those jibes last season about us being a one man team when this year we are carrying Rooney, giving goals away and still second..says alot for the rest

A big part of the United success or indeed any sporting teams success is that ability to reinvent and constantly evolve in a new way.

This season I cant help but to be left with the feeling that SAF has not been able to achieve that aim.
The defence has gone from being previously a mean and formidable wall to a vulnerable and ordinary part of the unit.
Vidic is out of form, evans has been poor, Evra has not recovered from the world cup fiasco, and O'Shea, I have never thought is good enough at this level.

Nani on the other hand has improved, but Valencia being out has weakened the threat from wide. Rooney seems to have lost his confidence, and Giggs is spent.

EVRA is one player who consistantly never has accurate final delivery, MAN U has been reduced to ranks of bebe, smallings as if its bradford signing players. SADLY gone r th days we wuld make moves for players like ronaldinho, batistuta etc.. park, oshea, nevile,m.owen, scholsy, giggs, brown and also RIO r now beyond their prime coz of natures toll they shud gracefully stepdown. fletcher, carrik, evra, evans, r not the likes of robben, essein, lampard, ineasta, xavi, i cud go on.. all our above man u players are legends now of th PAST... SAF shud stop covering up for not justfyn wy we NOLONGER r th most FEARED team anymore th team MOST skillful players who all would love to watch are nolonger comin to us... we week in week out are becomin now like an avarage team.... SAF shud RESCUE th very team he once built as the TEAM on the planet if its the OWNERS killing th team what is SAf waiting for this team is PART of ur life DONT LET SUMbody take it away plz...
