Hiring Roy a masterstroke from H&G...

I've never seen us LFC fans as divided as we are now. We're always 100% behind getting rid of the yanks but now we are fighting each other due to the inept displays of our team under a manager who I have completely lost confidence in.

I was one of the percentage of fans that did not want Roy Hodgson managing LFC. I was still willing to support him until I saw him dismantling our squad and buying average players like the Poulsens and Koncheskys. Then he sent Aquilani, one of our brightest prospects to Juventus on loan and that was the end for me.

Other fans have berated me and others of similar oppinion and have told us to go and support another team. Shocking that an LFC fan is telling another LFC fan to go and support someone else. Now, the percentages are shifting and more people are in the percentage wanting Roy replaced.

Ask yourself, is this not what the owners would want right now? I think that this season we have to accept midtable as I don't think that we can recover sufficiently after Roy is gone, to mount any kind of run to get us 4th place or even Europa league qualification.

I don't know if it's Roy's training or if the players just completely forgot how to pass but nothing I've seen fills me with hope.
I think me, like many other fans, were hoping that we would see a renewed attitude by the players; one of showing a bit of flair (purchase of Joe Cole) and some pride. The 'team' now look like they are petrified going into games against any opposition and seem to be in disarray. I wasn't expecting us to look like championship winners but I did expect an air of belief.

i was never a fan of roy taking the job, before we let rafa go we should of had a world class replacement lined up.. we are liverpool, we demand a great manager.. if nobody was interested due to the board / owner problems the we should of kept rafa, if rafa had to go the kenny should have taken over till new owners came in.

it annoys me how rafa gets slated after one bad season, at least he made us hard to beat, tactically rafa was miles ahead of roy, zonal marking worked for the players we had, now we are all over the place. i hope to god roy goes.. and soon.

Roy Hodgeson? Why didn't we go for Mcleish or Walter Smith If we opted for a Brit? Roy is a mid table Manager. No wonder some EPL coaches such as Steve Bruce and Allardyce are openely happy he is Liverpool coach (compared to Benitez who they cant match up to in terms of guile and tactics). He's made us a beating side, Benitez whatever his weakness would not draw with sunderland at Anfield. No offence to Sunderland fans

yes i am a loyal red.. 36 years and counting, season ticket holder to boot..

my point was we should never of gotten rid of rafa after one bad season.

as for roy, never wanted him, and yes i do feel he's taken us backwards, he's too happy taking a draw, his buys arent up too much, all last season everyone said we needed a striker, so what does he buy, a keeper, a left back, and the worse defencive midfielder ive seen put on a red shirt.. babel was was offered a second chance under him, yet doesnt even make the bench, when a team is under preasure like we are player stand up.. i just feel under roy the team has no confidence. but i guess we are stuck with him till new owners come in.
if kenny was the manager, the team wouldnt be so down beat.. and a draw would never be a good result!!

Come on mate Rafa's default tactic was not to lose and the only time I can recall us "going for it" was when we had nothing to lose either in a particular game or in the title race. Rafa's catious approach seen us go from top in December to 2nd IMO and it was ONLY then we looked really good. He should have known how strong we COULD have been going forward BEFORE we fell behind the Mancs.

If you reckon Roys buys "aren't up to much" you could say the same about Rafa. How many fullbacks did he go through? How many players did he buy that weren't up to it? I'd say only Pepe and Torres have been good buys {as well as Alonso but Rafa played in part in him leaving IMO}

It's no secret on here that I think Rafa's time was up and TBH I never really wanted Roy and the main reason is I think he is too similar to Rafa however we owe Roy a bit of time IMO and for him to be getting slaughtered after 6 games from Liverpool fans is shameful IMO

It was obvious before he'd even been appointed that Hodgson was the wrong man for the job, for several reasons:

1. He doesn't whinge when his team lose
2. He doesn't gloat when his team win
3. He gives credit where it's due to opposition, especially if they're from lower leagues
4. He doesn't use media rumour mill to unsettle players at other clubs
5. He doesn't insult local rivals to curry favour with fans
6. He doesn't sulk at press conferences

To sum up: he doesn't adopt the Homer Simpson approach to management - "This is everyone's fault but mine!"

Upshot of all this: O'Numpty by end of the year.
Cue business as usual re the above 6 points.

I would have to agree that current Manager is not doing the job that he needs to be doing. He is passive with everything, especially with mistakes.

I really hope Liverpool can move past this hard period quickly. I don't think with Roy's acceptance to everything that will happen. If the owners had any word on hiring him I would have to say that was a move in the wrong direction.

Liverpool needs a strong leader who can make the club strong again.

I heard commentators compairing what Roy had done at this stage last season with Fulham, funny enough we are about equal to his previous year.

This alone shows we are heading in the wrong dircetion (or some may say, in the same direction but with better players).

Roys tenure when he took over was to stabilise the team, whilst he seems to be building a team (which is what we didnt need and couldnt afford).

He is playing a 4-4-2 formation where most of our players are better suited to a 4-2-3-1 (Kuyt & Milan are RF & LF, not RM & LM)
Normaly you would see midfield to RF(Dirk) passes where Kuyt wins the ball in the air and then crosses, now he is being played to deep, i have not seen this pass at all this season.

I agree with most of the complaints above, and that Roy has used every excuse in 1 month, that Rafa used in his time at LFC.
The latest is against Blackpool, where he has already came out with"we dont have a LB for the match" well Roy put us into this position with his signings - but instead of other managers not even talking about it, he is getting his reasons in first - and that is wrong for our club.
