Miguel Ángel Jiménez, easily one of the most popular Europeans over the last 10-15 years. Jiménez and Clarke would be good for a bit of craic.

He'd be in my ideal 4 ball, along with Radar (Hilarious) and Suzanne Pettersen (for obvious reasons, just edges out Di Stewart by the quality of her play).

Together with Karlsson, one of the most under-rated players in the last 10-15 years.

Im not sure he's that under-rated to be honest. He is always spoken very highly of and people clearly like him. His majors recoed is a bit patchy which is why I dont think he gets mentioned as a really top notch player, had soem decent finishes but nopt really genuinely contened in too many.

Outstanding stuff to see Jimenez win heading into the Ryder Cup - should put the wind up the Americans as he is a real grinder when he's on form; just what we need in a matchplay competition - if you let one hole slip, it's great to be able to shrug it off and focus on winning the next one; which he did today in strokeplay, which is much more difficult to do.

It's also great that he's played himself into the team with a passionate desire to be there - in my view, Jimenez should have been Montgomerie's elder statesman presence; that excuse shouldn't have been afforded to justify Harrington's presence - whose form may have been good last year, but has been ominously poor this year (and continues to be so right now). Why we haven't got Casey/Rose in the team instead of Harrington is a real mystery. Oh well, we're looking pretty unassailable right now - the US side is looking collectively far less impressive as far as I can tell

He is having a great season and by all accounts is a genuine good guy. Loved it earlier in the season when he was hosting the tournament in southern Spain and was obviously delighted to be able to hand over a winner's cheque to Oosthuizen. Hope he can get a few points on the board in the RC.

Jimenez is my favourite player on the tour at the mo as he is such a great character (and not bad at golf either.) Whilst I love watching TV golf, a lot of the top players come across as boring and I think the game needs more like him. So for me its great he is performing so well and that our Ryder cup team can benefit from his character.

Great player and love when him and clarke play together and smoke the cigars but seems to have escaped all the debate about ryder cup records. Has anyone looked at his stats they are terrible lets hope he can improve and get some points this time round.

Jimenez has more wins (18) on european tour than;

14 Goosen, Harrington
13 Singh
12 Clarke
10 Bjorn, Casey, Karlsson
9 Poulter
8 garcia

With the exception of westwood does that make him the best european tour player of the last 15 years?

Jimenez,

What a character and great competitor - I don't know whether he plays to the gallery but the media interviews he gives are hilarious...... Top man.
