Time to put some perspective on this team...enjoy this season as this will be our last in the Premiership for quite a while..Gold and Sullivan have come in and appointed a manager who has frankly, purchased mediocre players..they might as well have kept Zola...the Olympic Stadium is a joke as well, cos unless we sell tickets at a fiver each in the Championship we wont even fill it half full..sick and tired of having people at our club who dont care..sick and tired of having managers who dont know what they're doing..just think that we will be better off in the Championship..frankly where we belong..we are an ordinary, and not very good side..thats the fact..no point anyone coming on here slagging me off, we were damn lucky last year and everyone knows it..nothing has changed..this year, we will be down big time..so just enjoy whats left of our time..we are simply not good enough, and our depth of talent is frankly weak..if we want to be up in the top half, then Gold and Sullivan need to spend a damn site lot more cash on excellent players, not other clubs cast offs..its a joke.

As soon as I heard Avram Grant was new manager I was gutted, shows no sort of excitement or passion that a team lacking in quality players needs to drive them, Zola was hard done by at least the players tried playing for him, I fear for us this year.

Agree with the post, in terms of the disappointment. I know we dominated, but you have to make these periods count. And when they scored, we didn't have the mettle/resolve/nous (call it what you like) to come back. At home. Against (with all respect) Bolton- not Manu, not chelsea, not arsenal, not liverpool- Bolton. At home.
Sorry, but this isn't good enough, not if we want to stay up. And this is where I disagree with the post. Cos I think if we go down it will be a disaster for us. We belong in the prem-get it sorted Avram!!!

The Hammers have some really good players but some journeyman. Some of the players live and breathe for the club, some do not appear as committed. Tompkins looks a potentially good player in the future but at the moment he's not ready and needs strong support and instructions which he doesn't get from those around him. So unless a major change takes place I regret to say they are going to be in the shakeup for the 3rd relegation place.

Disappointed to read such a load of negative rubbish after 2 games! Would we have expected to beat Villa away with Zola? errrrr, no I think not. Haven't Bolton beat us 6 times on the trot before yesterday? errrrrr, think so yes. So, no surprises there then.
Look, the premiership as we know is no place to earn your spurs so to speak. Well Grant has earned his, and I believe he does know what he is doing. No matter how well Zola was 'loved' by the players, they didn't go out an do it for him on match day. Yeah sure, we are not studded with superstar talent, remember, we haven't haven't got the dosh for that so take a reality check when you start you start talking about spending shedloads of money.
Lets be clear - this season has to be about survival (No. 1), and laying a foundation for some stability (No. 2). Forget Europe, FA Cup runs and that rubbish. This season is just about finishing between 10th and 15th and only spending a couple of weeks in the bottom 3. The players we have got are good enough for that. Its about attitude and Grant will get them into them. I trust this bloke. Yesterday was a BIG disappointment, because it was a chance to stuff a team that had done us 6 times running. But if your 20m rated forward can't take a damn penalty at this level then you will be staring down the barrel.
Accept what we are for now. After 2 games it is definately not all over. It isn't going to be pretty but I am 100% convinced that come the end of the season we will still be there and looking better than we did last year.
I'm not foolish enough to ask others to 'believe', it is more 'grin and bear it'. We have to remember how far we have fallen and we weren't that high anyway. Grant is a fighter and Gold and Sully aren't mugs. Forget the stadium. Thats all PR. Right now the numbers don't add up and won't without the team doing better. Their game is to talk a good game, but its up to the players to play one.
Shoot me down if you like but only after 15 games. Before that, you're just shooting us in the foot.

oh my word where do we begin well lets start with our biggest problem we cant score goals carlton cole it would not matter if he played for man u chelsea arsenal or wigan the guy just cant even kick a ball no vision ,awareness, agility, cant even head a ball we should have cashed in that there is no doubt sorry carlton but thats my opinion. whats happened to the hammers style of play ok we may see 10 mins now and again we are just now a below average side and that breaks my hammers heart we can only get better i live in hope.

There is no team spirit at West Ham with little hope of survival as most of our best players have long since gone the current team is unrecognisable to the great WHU teams of the past lack of passion is obvious & Avram Grant is not on the same skill level as previous managers do we have to wait for week 36 when we are still in the bottom 3 for the owners to wake up to the fact you have to invest heavily in top class players if you want to stay in the premiership when WHU became a feeder club for Spurs,Chelsea,Man U,Sevilla,Stoke ect then the big sell of of what was left things have changed very little since Alan Curbishly left after Anton Ferdinan was sold there is only one place WHU will go & that is down sad to say.

I didn't see the game on Saturday and have only seen the highlights on MOTD but I agree with inoffapost that it is far too early to give up. For God's sake how long have you supported the Hammers? I have since 1974 and you learn to stand by them through thick and thin. I also understand that there are far more thin times than thick and if you want to support a team that wins the PL and CL year in year out then I'm sorry but West Ham aren't that team. Yes our next couple of games are tough and we are not expected to get anything from them but look at Villa..beat us last week and everyone was saying how they had carried on without MON and yet yesterday they were stuffed 6-0 by the Toon. Keep the fiath, give Grant a bit more time than just 2 games. Booing the team during the game does no-one any favours whatsoever. We need to get behind them, show them our support and hopefully we will get a bit of luck and be off and running.COYI's

Supported the club since i was approx 4 months old..1964 FA Cup final..so 46 years..when Boyce scored the winner.my Grandad threw me in the air, and caught me, waking me up and making me cry..since then..always a Hammer..BUT..its the same old thing, every single season..the same promises, the same bulls*it..frankly, after nearly 50 years, you tend to lose your patience..
