I'm surprised that I haven't seen any jokes yet about the length of the piers in Blackpool vs Wigan.

Don't want to burst blackpool fans bubbles but i think this proves wigan are more shocking than first thought and they will go down, along with blackpool

Clearly Martinez is not up to the job. Whelan must make a change now so that a new boss can come in and act on what is left of the transfer window.

I suspect that "All those people" amount to none. I'd like to see a link to any article or post that said you would get no points in the entire season.
You sound as paranoid as a Man City fan!

blackpool should enjoy it whilst it lasts, if the first day of this season has proved anything, Wigan look pathetic, West brom are also relegation candidates but they were unlucky against chelsea, Wigan were atrocious.

This is spookily similar to Bolton, 2001. Play off winners, barely any signings, tipped to go straight back down. Opening day, they went to Leicester, an 'established Premiership team' and won 5-0. Bolton stayed up, and are still in the league. Leicester sacked their manager after conceding 9 goals in their first two games and were relegated after six seasons. Wigan, incidentally, are in their sixth season in the Prem.
Swap Blackpool for Bolton and Wigan for Leicester and you have history repeating itself.

Anyway, congratulations to Blackpool. Brilliant start and just the confidence boost required.

LeSaux that was also the season that all three teams that came up stayed up (Rovers, Bolton and Fulham) none o whom have been relegated since so that's good news for West Brom and Wolves then!

Wigan fan here! Just wanna first of all say well done to Blackpool, thoroughly deserved the win! Looking across at you all enjoying yourselves reminded me very much of our first season in the prem takin the P***..fair play to ya! As for us, to say we are one of the poorest sides the prem has ever seen?...hmmm...just poor drivvle! Remember this is our 6th season and along with Blackpool I bet there are a few other clubs would swap places with us tomorrow! Blackpool, Stoke, Wolves, Sunderland have all to do to stay there like we have. I'm glad in a way that this defeat has happened now at the beginning of the season. It's not too late to do something about it wether it means Martinez being sacked or the players pullin their socks up! Bolton were in sh@t street last year and look what happened with them..a good manager rescued em! Wigan will live to fight another day it's a long season!

Excellent result for Blackpool. What I saw of the Holloway interview however, confirmed my thoughts as to what a complete misery the bloke seems to be. Can't understand why when you think how things have gone for him. Even at the end of last season when interviewed, he appeared utterly unapproachable and snapped at the TV reporter.
