Afternoon all,

The nerves are jangling and the expectation is rising - it can only mean one thing, the 2010 Open Championship is upon us.

The first ball at St Andrews will be hit by Paul Lawrie and I'll be kicking off the commentary bright and breezy at around 0620 BST to bring you all the action from the opening day.

I'll need all of your tips, predictions and banter throughout the day and this is the place to get involved. Leave your posts and Iíll use as many as I can.

Have to hold my hands. I foolishly believed the BBC`s million pound meteorological machine would be correct with heavy rain and wind am a lot better pm. I even had a pound on both Mcilroy and Woods missing the cut! Never mind next time I will just open the window and look myself. The old course was defenceless this morning, I played RCD this afternoon allegedly young Rory practised there last week. Not surprised he shot a 63 today after the test with wind 20mph RCD give me and my group today. Hcp`s of 3,8,8,9 best score gross 80 I shot 88 off (hcp of 8.

@BBC - The sporting hat-trick will only be accomplished if Alberto Contador (or another Spaniard) wins The Tour de France. Lets be honest here, no one cares about golf in Spain. Cycling has got a much larger following.

Oh yes Rory will win. I went to back him at 16-1 to win, and my internet froze. By the time I had re-fixed it, he went eagle, birdie, birdie and was down to 4-1. He will now go on to win with ease. Damn wireless connection.

Incredible scoring in perfect scoring conditions for a links course. If the weather gets as bad it is forecast to then anything can happen. Harrington and Michelson a surprising disappointment. It would fantastic to see Rory win but there are 3 tough days to go and it's highly likely alot will change. I think we are in for a real treat over the weekend.

Don't worry, Tiger will save you from having to smash up your hub.

I studied the round of Villegas very strongly and i believe that he has what it takes to win this open. Long an straight off the tee, a decent short game and a bit of flair.
What more do you need??

Much as I'd love to say how good it was I can't really comment.
I got home from work at 630- watched BBC coverage to the end and searched the channels to see the highlights program and low and behold - there isn't one. YOu can watch bits on the internet but can anyone tell me where it is on the 32 inch box that I pay the annual fee for?

My pre tournament bets of YE Yang 125/1 & Marcel Siem at 300/1 are looking good, although oddly are both still about half those prices.
