Ward and Baker in the singles, no Bogdanovic and Fleming/Skupski for the doubles. What does the team think? Come on Duggiedoo, you're our Shadow Captain!

"No No! Leon had some big thinking to do. Rocket Dan must have been in the reckoning. Martin Lee too probably! "

Also old veterans like Greg Rusedski and Tim Henman as substitutes.

Not much choice here, with Murray and Boggo both opting out, and with Evo basically being cut out of the picture then we really had no other options.

Lol @ Leon - with the players having good Grass seasons, Baker only won 1 set! i guess that counts as good now.

still we should still win this no probs, i think 3-2. I expect Ilhan to win both his matches, although he can self destruct as i saw at queens qualies.

No, No, No! Leon's got Tim off to scout out Guinea Bissau and Rusedski's looking for suitable accomodation in Ulaanbaatar. All part of Draper's cunning 5 year plan.

As Count Z said both Boggo and Murray are (understandably) unavailable.

However this is a tie we "should" be capable of winning.

The team is pretty much Hobson's choice though I believe Joe on the Wimby burger stand is lined up as substitute - he does a mean topspin flick with the spatula and Diaper has been eating a lot of burgers recently and drawing up 50 year plans on the napkins - so all is well.

I have every confidence..... in someone winning the tie - Flemski might prove to be the saviours? ;)

The turkish team has just been selected. I reckon this could be a close call:

well i think that pic just about kills off any hope we may have had that the Turks may be uncomfortable on grass, they look right at home on it :(

One of the turkeys has four legs - that's so not fair. ;)

I always thought six players were selected and the captain picked from that, rather than naming four as well as a reserve. Great call on the reserve though, Alex Ward played brilliant at Nottingham.
Ultimately we'll take the doubles and Ilhan will win both his matches which means it's all about how we do against their second player...

its really meant to be 4+1 as reserve, but it seemed John Lloyd had trouble often deciding on the best 4 so would name an initial 6 to be trimmed down later.

The general consensus seems to be that we might just shade it but in present circumstances you can never rule out the possibility of defeat being snatched from the jaws of victory.
