As a constitution the football association is a governing body. Strip their powers (don't know how) but set up a body governed, directed & operated by perhaps ex - players who have no vested interest but to enhance the game of football played in England.
Get rid of the coaching manuals & be open to new ideas & be given the freedom to express any new ideas.
Grass roots - get kids to play attack & defence rather than full blown games, with the kids rotating.
British swimming on the up, cycling doing well. Less profiled sports but sports where coaching techniques are learnt from aboard, free of the arrogance that we know best.
Perhaps should not compare, but bet the British Olympic team will outdo the English footy team in performance in 2012 (& probably not the same expectation from the media).
Brazil - far too early for England but 2022 could be the time.
