comment on the article

With Wimbledon starting next week, i thought i would get a thread in and find out who you think will win Wimbledon?

Roger Federer - vote 5
Rafa Nadal - vote 4
Andy Roddick - vote 3
Andy Murray - vote 2
Novak Djokovic - vote 1

If you think its going to be someone else then let us know!

The likes of Hewitt, Cilic, Ancic, Karlovic are all still a threat...

I would like nadal to win

but I think its very difficult with the likes of federer, murray, berdych, soderling, roddick or djokovic

also tsonga, hewitt, cilic, isner, querrey, gulbis....

so many good players that can trouble nadal

the good thing is he will surely gain a good amount of points, cos I see him getting to the semis

andy murray will NEVER win wimbledon. he cant hack the pressure and his best bet for a major remains the US Open

It's fair to say that there are more players in with a shout this year than usual. There's a good chance for a Verdasco or a Cilic to possibly get to the final this year.

However, the top top players always deliver their best tennis at the grand Slam events. I'm going for a Federer Nadal final. Nadal to win.

If Andy Murray ever wins Wimbledon it will be a miracle. I'm a Scot and would dearly love him to win but.......

Federer for this year - I think the French Open was a blip.

Very few tennis followers would call the 2008 final a "destruction" of one player.

---------------

I'm kinda neutral on Nadal and Federer, but I do have to say that Nadal was trouncing Federer until the rain started and he lost a lot of momentum. It could easily have been a 3 setter if there wasn't rain, Federer started to look like he was gunna cry by the end of the 2nd set.

I think this year wimby is open. As it is now clearly known that Fed is slowing down and is bit inconsistant in his serves and return game. He is uncharacteristically shaky in playing at big moments unable to take half chances. He may face likes of berdych, Hewitt and djoker on his way to semi.. he might fall if he doesnt get back to his grooves. On the other hand nadal looks good.. he loss at london grass court is accidental. Otherwise, the kind of consistancy he has so far this year, considering the best of five sets are being played and the grass court now offers slow and high bounce ball, Nadal has chance ahead of federer. It will be interesting to see how nadal will play murray and other players. Nadal is too vulnerable. He was beaten at australian hard court and american hard courts beginning of this year. He got his tiles only in clay so far this year. He will be tested in Wimby.. It is not like pre 2008 era, one can close eyes with out even looking at draw and tell who will be playing in final..

Most open Wimbledon in years methinks. everyone's form is all over the place. If Murray had been in 2009 form he'd have a great chance...Fed and Rafa have to be favourites, closely followed by A-Rod, Muzza and Djoko. Outside bets for me would be Cilic, Soderling, Hewitt (wouldn't that be great!). Could be a great tournament!
