With a few hours to spare I popped into Thwe Oval tonight for my daily dose of cricket, where Surrey reached the pits, all out for 97.
Middlesex may not be very good, but Surrey were abysmal.
Looks as though I'll have to find something else to do!!!!

Oh dear! I wonder when was last time that a team was all out with the 4th highest scorer getting just 4.

Last night I referred to Surrey getting crushed by Warks last year in limited overs match. This was even worse. Adams can't afford too much more of this!

'Adams can't afford too much more of this!' - CorporalHumblebucket.

That certainly should be the case although I would suggest that Hamilton-Brown watch his back.

Where do I start? Surrey were a proud county with a fantastic history and now look at us! Within a few days of an innings defeat within 3 days which leaves us adrift at the bottom of the second tier in the 4 day game, this collection of losers have surpassed themselves by losing a T20 game by 10 wickets with half the overs left. Not even a few wins in the 40 over game can make up for this disgrace. Do we look to the upper management who let players go to other counties who then seem to thrive? Do we look to an academy system that barely produces a top class prospect even though we have the pick of private schools in the county and good inner city schemes running? Do we look to the coaching staff as Chris Adams was one hell of a winning captain and player? Do we look to the players themselves as in theory we have a good squad so why are they letting both us and themselves down by continually underperforming? Evertime we lose I expect some sort of pride to be shown in the next game to at least prove that playing for Surrey means something. Yet again that wait continues!

It's only the 1st game, but it was an absolute pathetic performance by the bats excluding Hyphen. Can't blame bowlers as they were on a hiding to nowt.

Hopefully we can beat Essex on Thursday.
I didn't boo as I am sure the team did not plan this dour performance as we were absolutely thrashed.

Cheerleaders were damn attractive though. Shame they didn't have too many boundaries to cheer. End of Adams, Mckay, Thorpe, Stewart soon possibly. Jobs for the boys rarely works.

I wasn't aware that Stewart was part of the Surrey coaching team. Weren't Adams, Thorpe and Stewart all considered to be somewhat selfish players back in their day? That is not a personality trait that combines well with bringing the best out of the next generation.

By the way, I am a Leicestershire supporter, and we have the odious, selfish, autocratic Mr Davidson running our club, so I still would swap places with you in an instant.

What's wrong with Davidson?

From the outside looking in he's one of the few head honchos who isn't simply an ECB stooge.

Interesting the state of English cricket.
Counties are prepared to pay large sums of money to international hasbeens ( I think players like Gilchrist were once the best in the world) just to enlarge their gates -money money money-.
People come to see an exiting game who makes the runs or takes the wickets is to a large part irrelevant.
I hope all teams who spent out such sums end up with egg on their face
