What a breathtaking performance. The winner from so far out. Reminding me of Shergar way back when so superior to anything else in the race.

A massive massive thank you to CATS who put me on to him in the first place prior to the Dante, take a bow young man!

All of you who backed anything else - sorry you didnt get a run for your money!!!!

NJS; How can you possibly say the pacemaker went too fast, he finished second for crying out loud. Had he finished last and distressed that statement may hold water.

I find it unbelievable that people are trying to dismiss one of the most stunning Derby performances of all time by a relative novice!

Good point Stick. It may be that At First Sight is Coolmore's best 12f horse and what he needed was to set the pace.

Look at Dayjur. Ordinary animal until he was allowed to blaze it from the stalls. When he won the Kings Stand he was 10-1, why because they'd onlt let him run like that once. Two months later he was a certainty and backed as such.

With what evidence we have At First Sight is Coolmore's best 12f 3yo colt. It may change in the future but it's hard to argue against.

Stick:

Come off it mate the most stunning performances
of all time? The second wasn't it in the race
to come 2nd...he was a pacemaker for God's sake
he came 2nd because they gave him too much
ground!
Workforce had a very hard race and may well
have left future races at Epsom!
moore virtually 'killed' the horse...I'll be
surprised if Workforce wins any more races
this year.

<nahnah> WORKFORCE <nahnah>

My pleasure to help out mate, my info overall might not be as good as it was but when it come to stoute's its pretty decent.

I was indeed drowning in beer last night and had a cracking time at epsom yesterday, made my dad's hearing go by screaming when workforce was coming back to at first sight and demolishing the rest of the field.

I made a bundle, im sure you did too. Shame about the dante cant win them all.

The quote I stated a few weeks back that Workforce is the best Stoute has trained in a long while may well turn out to be the case.

Reading some of the other comments, the pace was sustained throughout the whole of the race rather than the pacemaker going a stupid pace for the first 7fl, there were no hard luck stories in terms of posistion, not getting the break and gaps.

Workforce is without doubt the best of that field, and winning the derby in a course record whereby some stunning top class amazing animals have run before is no small feat.

It's all about the force <nahnah>

'Moore virtually killed the horse'- that must go down as one of the most ludicrous comments on here in a long while..and there have been a few !

A touch of "exaggeration" involved by NJS as regards Moores riding of Workforce....if anyone wishes to witness serious use of "the persuader" I suggest they take a look at Messrs Piggott and Murtagh riding in the 1972,1977 and 2002 Derby races, respectively !!

Compared to them,Moore was on a gallop around Hickstead !!
