Tim Bresnan

comment on the article

I can't see how he is better then Luke Wright as an all rounder, I can't see how he is a better all rounder than Bopara and I can't see how he is opening in a test match for England ahead of a lot of young bowlers.

Never mind Bresnan, what was Anderson bowling? Why did England go with 4 bowlers on a batsman-friendly pitch? They'll have egg on their collective faces if a bowler gets injured from overbowling.

And yes, Bresnan is not Test quality

bresnan has been a good bowler in the limited format as he can pitch it in the right areas but i just cant see hime being a major wicket taker at test level. the bowling attack looks very poor at the moment with only swann and anderson two players capable of making a mtach winning effort. can you see bresnan taking 5 wickets against the aussies?

ive not seen much of finn so so have to give him a chance but if bangledesh are finding it easy then i worry about the ashes series looming

"Why did England go with 4 bowlers on a batsman-friendly pitch"

Exactly. Bangladesh have packed their team with batsmen. I think their sole aim was to draw this test. It will be hard work for England's bowlers especially with this attack.

Get off Bresnan's back he bowled poorly today but he is still a novice at Test level. He certainly wasnt massively outbowled by Anderson who continues to flatter to deceive when its not cloudy. Bresnan bowled his heart out in Bangladesh and deserves his opportunity. He is a far better bowler than Wright or Bopara and is in the team as England are looking for a bowling all rounder.

No way should England have gone in with 4 bowlers. Its a negative tactic and one I hope is not repeated when Broad comes back into the team.

To be fair I am sure the Aussies are rubbing their hands and the thought of Bresnan opening the bowling in the Ashes in the winter.

I doubt that Bresnan will be opening the bowling against the Aussies. They will however be running scared of Finn and Broad who will have them for breakfast. Im sure Bresnan can come on as 3rd change and bowl the average players like Haddin and Johnson out at will.

Back off Bresnan.
The Guy has it all to show.
But can you see any Bowler coming in and doing what Bresnan did?
You wouldnt see it.
Until Sidebottom is fully fit, Bresnan will be under pressure and he will be showing the doubters come tomorrow.

Bres is fine but only in a 5 man attack. He's not really gonna take 4 or 5 wickets in an innings but his batting would be important if we go with 6 batsmen.
