Verdasco beats Djokovic again!

Verdasco is certainly the second best player on clay at the moment. He has just knocked Djokovic out of Rome, in a gruelling 3 setter, which lasted more than 3 hours. I see Verdasco going far in the Rolland Garros this time, but of course Nadal is the favourite to win it

True, but like you pointed out, the hostility towards him from some quarters comes from past incidents towards another player, don't think I've seen anyone who dislikes him from his personality which we all know nothing about, hence why I asked where the "likable" bit stems from, he just strikes me as brooding"

It's not like he's the only player to have had run-ins with other players. Take Rafa for example. There were his incidents with Sod, Berdych in Madrid 06 and I remember there was an incident with Gaudio a few years back when he was just starting out. Rafa is regarded as one of the most gracious and polite players out there. So does he merit the hostility that Sod receives??? I'm not a Sod fan but don't feel he deserves the stick he gets.

well to be fair, maybe i should be more forgiving. Soderling mainly seems like a decent guy. But he still attempted to cheat that time, I don't care what anyone says. But yeah maybe I shouldn't hold it against him forever

Why are people still even discussing that incident is beyond me. I didn't even think that was that important at that time lol.

just don't understand how people interpret it as a 'mistake'. The commentators certainly didn't .

There's a difference between watching a player develop for several years on tour than watching a youtube clip of him making a mistake over and over, but I guess that's too trivial for you to work out.

Bourne

you are not the only person who has watched tennis for many years and gets to form likes and dislikes, however irrational at times.

What a sad, sad state of affairs if this was actually the case :(
