The Cobra's Prep for Kessler

comment on the article

So Carl Froch will make it to Denmark for the fight with Kessler. But having watched his latest BBC interview he was very honest about the disruption it has caused him mentally ahead of the fight. Now its much less likely as many Brits will fly, and Carl has had less time in Denmark to focus on his fight.

Kessler must have gained some confidence from this, i just wondering how people think it will effect Carl Froch in the build up to the fight?

Can he put this behind him and go on to win?? will it have any effect on what happens Saturday night in your opinion??

Personally for me this is a pick em fight.Complete 50-50 that if it goes to the cards and is close will lead to draw or Kessler win

On a side note, having seen the interview with the BBC nice to know fatty Hennesey idea was to text Carl puictures of Helicopters ..Must of been a great help

I dont care what anyone says about Froch,he deserves a better promoter

Thoughts on above??

He will fly now, so no problemo, it's hardly a long haul flight where he will need to acclimatise.

The mental thing is probably just a double bluff!

Stongback - when Froch fought Dirrel he said in a Primetime interview that you were going to see silky boxing skills for the first 5 or 6 rounds then he was going to ko Dirrel.

--------------------------------------------------

Ben my comment was a bit of a wind up based on some of the things you quoted Froch saying before the Dirrell fight.

Did you know that Froch is as good as Haglar and Leonard.....I heard him say it and I have no reason not to believe him. ;)

Hennessey is a clown. Froch is an entertaining fighter, an undefeated WBC champion participating in a best v the best tournament, he should be a household name but thanks to fat Mick anyone outside of Nottingham who's not a boxing fan won't have heard of him. He may as well have Brian Potter from Phoenix Nights doing his promotion.

Strongback when did Froch say he was actually as good as these legendary fighters?

The fact is he didn't but like so much of what he does say, it gets misrepresented.

He said he would have liked to have boxed in that era (80's) because when quality fighters meet, if they fought 10 times nobody would come out of it 10-0.

It's hardly claiming to be as good as them.

Anyway you wrote you had HEARD him say it so if there is a video/radio interview of that then please provide a link cos I'd like to hear that myself.

Not knowing whether the fight would go ahead would have disrupted Kessler aswell as Froch.
I remember that before the Taylor fight, Froch looked very nervous, and it showed at the beginning of the fight. The question is, can he come through in the later rounds against Kessler, as he did against Taylor? He now knows that he can triumph over adversity on foreign soil, as he's done it before, which oculd give him more confidence this time around.

If the extract below from the news of the World article is not about Froch talking about himself in the same breath as Leonard, Hearns and Haglar then I completely misread the sentiment of what Froch was getting at.

BTW I don't think I misread the sentiment and my view was shared by many others who had a good laugh when Froch came out with said statement.
------------------------------------------------------------

"Froch, 32, said: "Top fighters at top level can fight each other 10 times and it isn't going to be 10-0 to one man. I would have been in the mix with Hagler, Hearns and Leonard. Hagler was a fighter and a brawler and I can do that, but I can also box, use my range and boxing skills.

"I'd have not quite done a Sugar Ray Leonard on him but done half a Leonard and half a Hearns. It would have been a mixture of the two.

"I have a better chin than Hearns and I have got some of Leonard's skills. Domestically, Chris Eubank was skilful but crude. Nigel Benn was just a brawler, Steve Collins was just a tough brawler. I don't consider them to have been that hot and I could have beaten all three.

"I would have been a massive superstar in that era." "

I don't know if you can call it an education but he has a sports science degree from Loughborough University.

As a wise man said to me Froch's ridiculous comments are borne out of his frustration at how little publicity he gets.

He should try telling an intentional joke or two, it might work better for him.

Nothing wrong with an undefeated WBC champion saying he's the greatest of all time. He has a career to prove it. If in the end he doesn't prove it then he's got egg on his face. If on the other hand he does prove it then more power to him.
Hey at the end of the day Mayweather says he's the greatest that ever existed & there's a good percentage that believe him. Ali said he was the greatest & his record isn't even as good as Klitschko's but if Vitali said he was the greatest then he'd be laughed to scorn eventhough he has the greatest knockout percentage in heavyweight history, has never been put down & his only meaningful loss was by cuts against an all-time great in a fight he was winning on points. So, leave Carl to his promoting. If I feasibly can I'll be watching his Kessler fight & it will be a cracker. If he falls flat on his face at some point in the future (unlikely against Kessler) then at least he's scaled the heights that the rest of us internet warriors can only dream of, got the rewards & will ride off into the sunset.
