Gordon Smith has announced that he is stepping down as the Chief Exec. of the SFA. I for one think this is a good day for our football, because the guy is clueless. However, I am worried about which numpty will be installed next? Any takers?

I might be missing something, but can someone please list all of the "Rangers Men" that have been at the helm of Scottish football. And I take it that this will be evidence based.

If we can tempt him away from the tennis, I'd offer the job to "Firework" Phil Anderton.

The only problem is that he s appointed yet another low-cost National Team manager who s won nothing and never will.

Can t wait for the post-mortem when we don t qualify for the Euros.Unfortunately at least Smith will be out of firing range, whilst those of us who actually turn up will be let down again..

Smith had the chance to bring in a European coach-like England and the Republic of Ireland. You re not telling me there aren t great candidates out there who aren t Levein, Jimmy Calderwood or Jim Jefferies...

But as usual with the SFA, they can t see past North Berwick.Or their penny pieces..

badger, easier question. Name all the 'celtic men' who have been at the helm of scottish football in the last 50-60 yrs, that may answer your question.

Nick,

I notice that you haven't answered my question. At no time did I refer to Celtic, as my question had nothing to do with them.

Its a pretty straight forward question and, to be honest, I don't know the answer, thus the reason that I asked.

It does seem pretty clear, however, that many others do know the answer, given the assertions of many postings.

Therefore, I ask again, can someone please list all of the "Rangers Men" that have been at the helm of Scottish football, and again, can it be based in fact and evidence please.

badger, i meant no disrespect to your question as it is a valid point. but I bet nobody could answer that, but it will be quite a few. All I was stating was that there would be very few,if any, celtic connected people in any high position within the SFA.....WHY IS THAT? Mind you I would rather there was no 'old firm' involvement within the SFA. Maybe thats what we need.

Nick,

This is my point. How can you, or anyone, say that there have been "quite a few" Rangers Men at the head when you admit that you don't actually know. Its just guess and supposition based on very little.

To answer your second point, I think that the list of the current SFA hierarchy, as noted in today's Scotsman, lists Jack McGinn as Honorary Vice-President. While I understand that this is an honorary position, he has previously held high office within Scottish football.

To add to my point, most comments that we hear these days are based on very little, other than petty prejudices and ignorance. Certainly not on fact, as no one seems to be bothered with that, or even attempting to find the truth.

Unfortunately, bigotry is about more than religious differences, its about anyone that is intolerant of others, and relies on their own prejudices. Therefore, its not confined to any one or two sets of people, but can be equally prevalent across the board.

Badger, there is no bigotry in my question or statements for that matter. No one will ever know the truth on what goes on,you know that aswell. Have you ever seen the SFA board members? Who makes the decisions on our game? The only one you see in George Peat, why is that? Who appointed him? Remember he is SJFA president who has overall control of the SFA...Is that good or bad?

Nick,

If your assertion that there would be quite a lot of "Rangers Men" that have held high office wasn't based on petty bigotry, then what was it based on, given that, by your own admission, you don't actually know who, if any?
