That's just obfuscation.

A wrangle and switch of opponent saw the first title fight cancelled and an injury for the other.

Of course nobody 'forced' Haye to fight Valuev in the manner that you are implying I meant (which of course I didn't). But he was running out of options and his hand was forced somewhat as the Valuev fight became the quickest route to a title.

Far from ducking the K brothers, the title strengthens his right to be in the ring with them.

And implying that Haye is all talk is just laughable, even for somebody who actively dislikes him.

He can certainly talk but his record pretty much obliterates any argument that he is somehow all all mouth and no trousers.

Haye's record at heavyweight is incredibly thin, for all the talking he has done.

I was hoping he would turn out to be a real threat to topple the Klitschkos, but last night gave no indication of that. Now all I hope is that he does actually fight Wladimir, instead of taking fights against bums while accusing the Klitschkos of ducking him.

About the only other fight that would make any legitimate sense (as opposed to just making money) would be for Haye to fight Povetkin. There's no point in him fighting Valuev or Ruiz, and Chambers makes no sense now that Wladimir has demolished him.

Haye could make a fight with a Klitschko happen this autumn if he wants. If that doesn't happen, it will mean he is stalling.

"I was hoping he would turn out to be a real threat to topple the Klitschkos, but last night gave no indication of that."

Did Vitali look much like a threat against Kevin Johnson? Did Wladimir against Sultan Ibragimov?

I'm not using those fights as the K bros best examples but am simply pointing out that in the past they've had their questions to answer and stinkers too. I believe Haye is more of threat than Johnson, Arreola, Chagaev, Ibragimov or any of the bros' recent opponents. He also handled himself sufficiently against a taller opponent than the Klitschkos in Valuev and let's face it, the K's are more likely to open up than Valuev.

I didnt see the fight, but i hope Ruiz dont fight anymore. Give Audley harrison a chance.
Its obvious Ruiz wouldnt win. Couldnt even beat RJJ.
Why Ruiz is still fighting at highest level i dont know. Are there no good heavyweights.?

Rob are you for real? Wlad wouldnt wait 2-3 weeks for Haye's back to heal and I Vitali wanted rematch clauses then changed his mind.

Right, here is how I see things. Ok, I might be wrong but at least itís my opinion none the less.

Haye is a classy fighter and when I first saw him as a Cruiser I thought he'd go far, but then again I think everyone else thought that as well. Iím glad he learnt from the painful lesion dished out to him by Thompson but he seemed to stagnate for a while after.

Gas glad as I am that he learnt but a touch more humility wouldn't go a miss. The British public love their sportsmen and especially those who they can relate to. All the while heís acting like a yank heíll alienate some.

Against Ruiz he did what any good fighter would and put away a fighter way past his best, but he did it in style few others could hope to match.

I honestly think that a fight between Haye and Wlad would be a 60-40 split in favour of Haye. This is due to Wlads fragile chin. Incidentally, Wlad isnít a bad boxer, far from it. He is a very good fighter but when he gets tagged heís easily stopped and has a habit of keeping himself within an arms length when hurt and the other guy is throwing bombs. Not a wise move when youíve a suspect chin.

However, I donít think Haye would be able to climb the mountain known as Vitali. Heís too big, too cagy, and deceptively tough. He also throws arm punches and doesnít have to wind up to deliver a knock out.

Come to think of it, why does Vitali not get the credit he deserves? Are we to quick to judge him because of the poor content that makes up his division? Personally I think heís a limited by a very effective boxer and would do well in any era. Ok he wouldnít have looked so good against Ruiz but Iím willing to bet heíd have sent him to the deck few times and put him away earlier.

A certain setanta went bust soon after hayes back injury. Is it possible that that was a factor in that fight not happening.

as you seem to know so much about chosing top opponents waldorf. How about the klits carefully chosen cannon fodder. the super fit arreola?
Is the WBC belt worth anything when you don't have to fight for four years then get title shot.

I just hope the Klits can get a fight n soon with Haye. If Haye doesn't fight one of them & then retires, he won't be recognised as a top heavyweight.
