Score flattered us today, Wigan eased off at the end with the game well won and we scored 2 late tries. Strange atmosphere around the ground today, very muted with bickerings about Matterson. I never really thought we would win and personally hoped to just compete and keep the score respectable. Dont know whats going on with Sherwin at the moment, we badly need cover at halfback and could have done with signing Brough again. With the small squad and current injuries its not looking rosy in the garden. Crusaders looks a lot tougher now than it did at the start of the season. Still wonder if we will be playing in Superleague when the next franchise season kicks off, not looking too hopeful is it??????

All I can say Kippax is Cas do have a good side that can be very dangerous when they want and if u want a sign of what i'm saying look at us. In 2008, as well as last year, we had horrendous injury problems and problems with form as well as sacking our coach and yet we still got to Wembley and gave saints a much better game than anybody thought we could. I remember leaving after that game and saints fans coming up to me and my mate that I went with and telling us they didn't deserve to win so just keep the faith

The problem with Sherwin is quite simple: The bloke does not fit in with the squad. Great player when he's fit but him and chase have no cohesion. McGoldrick plays better whens he's off the pitch, he gets involved more. All the prats today wanting Matterson sacked are fools. The guy has us playing attractive rugby and were getting beat still scoring 20+ points. The problem is quality here and there. We play well with average players. Any clearout needs to come from the board. The club is desperate for new investment. We need a prop, backrower, wing and halfback. I was adamant Cas should have gone for Ben Ross last year before he went to South Sydney. The club has no ambition and Richard Wright set the stall out pre-season. On the positives the younguns were the only ones who showed up well today and thats why kippaxtiger Cas should be in SL. The talent is there and bubbling along nicely. Get behind the local lads and support them coz they need the encouragement and none of the negativity from the fans.

segulfp - attractive rugby? whats the point in scoring 20 points - 10 of which were give mes when the game was already won. wigan ripped us to shreds for 15 mins at the start of the 2nd half when they decided to play - in general, we fell of tackles as though they were 7ft tall, weighed 24stone and could runn 100 mters in 12 seconds. Matterson said that he had improved our defence this season- before aball was kicked in anger, admittedly - but do you see an improved defence? You are right about Wright though - problem is kippax is right - we wont have a new stadium or have even laid a brick when the franchise is up for renewal and that's when SL get their wish and cas as a SL team are finished - SL will see ground development far more importantly than yputh development - mark my words.

Went to the game yeaterday along with a lot of other wigan fans and thought the game was quite scrappy to be honest. Our burst after half time killed the game and it looked as though we tried to win the game without using too much energy, considering the short turn around for the leeds game this week. Thought amos was outstanding at full back again as he has more space and can link into the play at the right moment. Also thought shenton had a good game and rangi was very busy all afternoon. Was very happy to come away with the points as the jungle hasn't always been an easy place to go.

Kippax, from what I've seen of Cas so far think your league position is a bit false. You've probably played as well as some of the teams above you but not had the luck. Mattersons a good coach, keep plugging away and all will come good.

Personally I hope you get the franchise, with two championship sides coming up and SL becoming a 14 team league, 13 home fixtures, 13 away and 1 neutral magic weekend fixture = 27 games.

Seagulfp, i dont doubt that we are playing attractive rugby at times and we have good kids coming through. I havent been stating matterson should be sacked but there were plenty around me who were. He can only coach what the board buy and Martin is right, the board and Richard Wright clearly stated we over achieved last season and should look to just consolidate this season, what kind of a message is that. Without a new stadium and investment and given our locality, in spite of our decent following home and away. do you think we are really a shoe in for the next applications?. As for our league position false wingcommander, we were totally outplayed by the bulls, let is slip 2nd half agaisnt both Wolves and wigan and were home and dry v KR before letting it slip. We have had one decent game v Leeds were we played for the full 80. I will always support the boys no matter what, will be interesting if Shenny is still with us next year or playing in blue and amber replacing a certain Mr Senior??

Saw the tries on SuperLeague show last night, very impressive particularly 'Famous' Roberts solo efforts. I wasn't too happy with Madge singling out a player for individual praise but from seeing the tries I can now see why. Although the backs are only coverting points now coz the forward pack is setting the platform and giving the other guys room to move the ball. On this evidence I can see only better performances throughtout the season. Pity Phelps picked up another injury but I hope taking him off was precautionary because we have some tough fixtures coming up. Surprised to see Feka left out again but quite clearly Maguire is making a point to him and the rest of the team that if you don't perform you are left out. I hope he returns soon with some improved form because he has been outstanding for us in the past. My plaudits go to the coaching staff for giving Young Tuson a chance. How did he do ?
