Just got back from the game and I cannot believe that we managed to win.

The perfect start, lots of noise from the crowd and we came out firing. Early goal was the perfect tonic. But then the team and the crowd I feel were stunned into complete awe and silence by what I can only describe as some the best passing football i have seen at the Cottage. It seemed that they played at times 2 - 7 - 1 as a formation. Full backs turned into second wingers and we were utterly rocked.

Roy worked his magic at half time and we pressed them higher up the pitch and reduced the service to the front ......... 8. A blistering goal from a happy Bobby and some stout defending saw us take the advantage to Ukraine.

Well done lads and hopefully Roy can find a way to curtail their unorthodox formation for next week.

Also did anyone else notice their team Ukraines at the back and Brazilians up front. The defenders looked like all they could do was pass to each other and then the Brazialians took over with the flair.

The fans last night were fantastic, and it was good to see that Zamora has dropped his play antics. Does anyone hava a link to Bobby's goal? I need to show my mate who is a Plymouth fan what real football is ;)

I was at the game last night and thoroughly entertaining it was too.
The crowd were brilliant, the noise was great, the atmosphere was terrific. I was in the Putney stand and the place was shaking from the moment the whistle blew.
A couple of highlights for me were Bobby's goal, obviously, the full backs were singled out and played well. They made a couple of errors but so did Hangeland. I couldn't believe his first touch at times. And last but by no means least is Zoltan Gera. That bloke ran his socks off last night. He was brilliant, took his goal well and hustled and made Zamora's job a lot easier. MY MOM.
We've got a chance next week. Shaktar played some terrific football in the first half but they didn't really have too much end product. However, they definitely will feel aggrieved to have lost.
COYW - I'm enjoying the ride - anyone else?

What a fantastic game that was last night (even though I was still outside the ground, when Zoltan scored the first!!).

The noise was great and the one touch passing at times in the first half by those Brazilian boys was something I have not seen at the Cottage for many a year.....poor old Brede didn't know which way to turn!!

I have to admit that Shakhtar were really impressive, given that that was their first competitive game since mid-December (due to the Ukranian league winter break).....I would love to see them when they are at full fitness levels!! However let's hope they are still not quite ready by next week.

Rocky - you missed a classic!!

Yep, as some of you are saying. I did watch it on telly as I say.

My boy's gone up to Scotland with my wife so without a travelling companion I decided to put my feet up & watch it in the warm - had the house to myself apart from the cat who is of course white with black trimmings!

Rocky you could have accompanied me,i ensconced myself in the hammersmith end,the atmosphere was
electric, the best i have expierenced since my first match in 1949,and thats a lot of watched matches.I thought our performance was more memorable in as much as Kelly first half and Etuhu second half were non contributry. but at
times there was some classy football from Shakhtar,i love to see there classy no 22 (Willian) at the cottage To Roy and the team
WELL DONE
