abramovic had stopped the money tap to the russian fa, the new chairman wanted a cheaper coachi didnt expect him to choose turkey, but guus likes a challenge, and theyres enough potetential there so good luck to him, he wanted to work at ajax someday so maybe after turkey we can get him a technical director spot here
Bad news for Liverpool.... one of teh few coaches available who could get them back on track is now taken.
As a Turkish ,I think He was the best option,Turkey have the great potential ,most technical players within Europe but needs a coach like him to make a decent team with stabilization to win something ,hopefully he will bring great aspect and system to entertain the great footballing nation and give us the glory we are waiting for ages !!
tbh i'm just really glad he's not going to be managing another club in the same league as chelsea. He's quality
It's bad news for me too and not because I wanted him but because he coaches Turkey and we (belgium) probably wont qualify now for EC 2012 cause of hiddink
Great news for Turkey that. They've been underachieving lately.
50in50,Russia was drawn in the same group as Germany, arguably most difficult group at par to Spain-Turkey group. In play-offs, Russians had switched off after leading 2:0 after 80th minute and were punished against the run of the play. On away game, you could see lack of motivation from Russian playmakers like Arshavin. Nothing Hiddink could do about.Russians must still be happy with that historic 3rd place in Euro08. Getting there from where they were before Hiddink - a dreadful and disjointed team - was quite an achievement.Hiddink also led average teams, like Netherlands, South Koreans, and more audaciously, Australians to historic achievements. Turkey will surely be looking to emulate that success. Why switch from Russia to Turkey? Well, the answer lies in the political intrigue that Russian Football Federation is famous for. The new Chairman was a known anti-Hiddink bureaucrat that tended to favor a Russian coach. World Cup failure was just a timely excuse.
This is the expected decision that we have been looking forward. Turkey will increasingly raise their performance as approaching EURO 2012. Sure, Guis Hiddink gets Turkey as best as they can. I hope we rise our success where we left in EURO 2008 semifinal. It could be championship of EURO 2012.
