Tomorrow, Tuesday 9th February, the BBC will be making some changes to how you login to 606.
From that day, we'll be using a new system called BBC iD. If you're a regular reader of Sport blogs, or some other BBC services, you'll most likely already be familiar with it.
If you've already upgraded the account you use, for example when you've used one of our blogs, you should notice no change on Tuesday.
If you haven't got yourself a BBC iD yet there’s no need to worry. Simply wait until Tuesday when you will be prompted to get a BBC iD when you sign in.
It will be easy to upgrade the account you currently have when the time comes. Simply use the same email and username you have for the old system and your details (and the comments that go with them) should be transferred to the new one.
As part of this upgrade, you'll be asked to choose a new BBC iD Name (the name that is displayed next to your posts). If you're an existing 606 user, you will be able to choose a Name of up to 50 characters, but we advise you to limit this to 30 characters or fewer. This is because a change will be made later in the year that limits display names across the whole BBC to 30 characters, in order to ensure that they are displayed correctly on all sites and services.
If you wish to read more info about the new login tool, there are help pages for BBC iD here - https://id.bbc.co.uk/users/help - and you can also read some blog posts about the new tool on the BBC Internet Blog - www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/bbcinter...
