"Tottenham's last-ditch attempt to sign Eidur Gudjohnsen on loan has reignited the bad blood between themselves and West Ham from last January's transfer window."
This is what gives football a bad name. The football fraternity is small and the demand for players from club to club is always going to be contentious. Its greed and each club's desire to have what the other club don't have. I cannot see what such difference it should make about him joining Spurs instead of WHU. Where's the bad blood? Club owners twist things with the language they use with the press and this riles the fans. Why not just say, we went for him but they closed the deal. End of story!
Its such an old fashioned thing this rivalry business. It's just a fact of life and its called Survival of the Fittest. It's a Darwinian theory and had Spurs been near the bottom they wouldn't have been chasing Gudjohnssen. All the London clubs are rivals and with the sun coming out now it'll soon be the cricket season and all will be forgotten.
