The thing is his original fee would of been based on appearences and how ell he did so i'd say the first payment to his old club would of been pretty small so i doubt we will be paying up the rest as he has not played for us really.

I think Fergie is giving him time on loan to get his price up so he can make something on him.

Don't know why he's been let go by the club. Seemed a good player, watched him at the U21 championships last summer and he was Serbia's best player.

I hope he does well enough at FC Koln to get a proper chance back at United.

As has been said elsewhere, it does seem somewhat peculiar that Tosic barely got a sniff of a chance in the first team, but there must be a (footballing) reason for it.

He did look good in pre-season, but as always, games against Chinese teams aren't always the best indicator!

I also really hope letting Ljajic go doesnt come back to haunt us. If he turns out to be a superstar that will really be a kick in the nuts!

16 million for a player you have to loan out to try and attract a tiny fraction of the fee back.

Brilliant United again!

Aaron Lennon is tiny. He's okay. I have faith.

The kids played 2 games so how can a judgement be given on 2 games he has played. Give the kid a chance and im sure he will perform,

16 million lol. I think everyone knows that it was somewhere in the region of 5-7 million. Where do these ABUs get there info from?

16.5 million was the agreed fee for Tosic and Ljalic combined and was broken down to include portions paid based on appearances and such.

The base fee for both men was around 5m each.

United appear to be trying to emulate the idea that Arsenal are employing (though I doubt Arsene intended it this way) of paying moderate sums for good young talent, helping them develop via training and loans and then selling them on if they dont look like making the United grade. United have always made good money from selling their B class players, Terry Cooke, Phil Mulryne, Chris Casper, John Curtis, Danny Higginbottom, David Healy, Mark Wilson, John Greening, Keith Gillespie, David Jones, Kieren Richardson, Pique, Ryan Shawcross, Giuseppe Rossi, Frazier Campbell and a lot more I can't remember I'm sure have all moved on for reasonable fees in the past.

I am glad Cologne managed to get him, as our main midfield player do not perform too well this season, especially Maniche and Petit look tired and out of form. Hope Tosic can deliver.

I think Cologne tried to get an Buy-option as well, but Manchester declined. We will see, I would like to keep him, as he look like a very talented prospect and was surprised he didn't get a decent chance at Manchester.
Other good news is that Cologne really manages to attract the right type of player, one with a lot of prospects. This should restart our season now (someone has to be wishful here).

Hope he does well for you but I hope that he forces his way into the manager's plans at United. Good luck for the rest of the season. I'll keep an eye out for your results and hope Tosic shines.
