Well Done Preston

Championship Preston North End

Well, the score was 2-0.

But fair play to PNE, they got better as the game went on. Rankin is a bit of a monster!

I'd say that, to be honest, it was always going to be a tall order to beat us. We cruised a bit, but there is after all a gulf between the two teams.

Still - you had some chances. Especially that first half chance from a few yards out. In the second half there was an offside call on one of your attacks that I think the ref got wrong.....

Good luck with the rest of your season.

Just enjoying a peacful train journey home from Preston after a job well done. I thought if the ref hadn't called play back afetr the ball was first in net (playing the disadvantage) we may have really run away with it.

As it was PNE managed to create chances and did well to kill off many of our attacks. In the end it ran t for, no major suprises. Good luck with he rest of your season PNE; hope Fergie Jnr works out for you!

Just back from the game.

The far better side won, but at least our lads showed some effort and skill today.

I must say that I was more impressed with Sturridge than Anelka, hopefully an England player of the future.

I do agree that Dean didn't have a tremendous game, but he did blow early for the goal that was disallowed, but the Preston players to be fair stopped playing on the sound of the whistle which was before the ball went out left for the cross. With the armoury Chelsea have from the edge of the box from free kicks (Lampard, Ballack & Alex to name 3, he obviously felt that the advantage was to give you the shot.

Impressed with the Chelsea support and the banner that went around for much of the 2nd half remembering Gary Lee. Was that the Chelsea fan that lost his life whilst following you in Preston close on 25 years ago when trying to jump a gap on one of the multi-story car parks in the city centre?

As JT said in the post-match interview, the result was as expected but not very comfortable at times.

I was quite impressed with how the PNE team kept going and didn't just throw in the towel. As some Prem teams have done against us this season.

It all bodes well for a new future under Fergie Jr. and I hope he's given time. He is a great "young" manager. Apparently his Dad's not bad either.

You also have some quality fans (who applauded Lamps when he went off) that kept going to the final whistle.

I'd love to see the famous PNE back in the Prem, so all the best for this season and all the seasons that follow.

Fair result, but difficult at times. PNE battled hard and gave Chelsea a good workout. Hopefully Frank and Belletti are o.k. for the Birmingham game which will be difficult. Sturridge is doing well and Anelka also but we need to convert more of our opportunities. Sturridge seems to react well instinctively in the box, which is a good sign.inally Finally a word of praise to Preston suporters who showed that gentlemen still exist within the game and if and when they return to the Bridge I hope we return the compliment..fair play!

well played to both teams, thought they were both playing some nice football. Good to see Chelsea have respect for the FA cup, i'd like to see them go on and win it.

Well done to the PNE fans. I did not expect such a friendly reception from the good people of Preston and was pleasantly surprised.

Was a great day out for us Chels. Good luck and I hope to see you back in the prem soon!
