Agreed, mercenary. How much money do you think he needs before committing to a club?

hopefully he will now sign senderos off arsenal!
Neill has been a decent prem player for the past number of years, and had a great tournament at the last world cup but he is a player that, for whatever reason, has been content to play at mediocre clubs and pick up as much cash as possible along the way without ever showing any ambition to maximise his career footballwise. A player of somewhat similar quality and similar age like Richard Dunne shows up players like Neill for the mercenaries that they are by making the most of the years he has and actually playing for the shirt he wears every week.
"content to play at mediocre clubs"?I thought this too earlier when he turned down Liverpool for West Ham, but when did Richard Dunne become the model professional?Richard Dunne squandered his chance at Everton and ended up at an extremely average Man City side for most of his career. For all that's said about Lucas Neill, he has captained his country and played at World Cup 2006, and has played for Everton and (soon) Galatasaray - both huge European clubs.I'm not the biggest fan of his, but he's a decent defender, helped us on the pitch and off it (his transfer fee) so everyone's happy.

As for the big club comment that's a joke too, Galatasaray, a club more famous for their fans than their football (and not in a good way!)----------------------obviously you do not know much about Galatasaray. They are the 2000 UEFA Cup Winners beating Arsenal in the final. 2000 Super Cup Winners beating Real Madrid. Since the inception of CL, they have entered the tournament every year except last year! They played twice in the quarter finals of the CL in the last 10 years! Have beaten teams like Man U., Leeds (at their hayday), Barcelona, Real Madrid etc.. How many of these teams can Everton count as their opponents not yet alone beating them! YOU GOT TO OPEN UP YOUR EYES. There are teams out there outside of the EPL as well!
No doubt he got a big fat signing-on fee

The bloke is a mercenery. He left Blackburn chasing big bucks and knocked Liverpool back in the process. He then let his contract run out at the Hammers and left on a free and couldn't even get a club for a couple of months, so ridiculus were his wage demands. He would have been chasing a pay day at Gala and their fans had better get used to him giving away silly free kicks and plenty of penalties. He is only the Ozzie captain as he campaigned extensively for the position causing a rift in the national side at the time.Overated, overpaid bully boy. Good riddance to him.

neill is a merc, he has shown this by the choices he made since leaving blackburn.fair play i guess, he is only interested in making as much money as he can before his career finishes. in a way us football fans need to understand to many players its just a job.dont be fooled by your club players kissing badges when scoring goals. for many they do it for the reaction nothing else.

good business, provided cover when we needed him and the transfer fee, no doubt covers whatever wages we paid him. Mercenary or not, times are tight and so is money. Now lets focus on beating Birmingham in the cup instead
