This is hilarious - after crashing out of the cup at home to measly Reading, Reds fans are over the moon about singing a soon to be 30 year old has been.Maxi was immense at the World Cup 4 YEARS AGO and hasn't done much since at a poor Atletico side, that is if he can get into the starting 11!The Premiership bubble has finally burst, well and truly - why else would the richest club in the league (Man City) only be able to pull off a free transfer for 34 year old has been Vieira? Or "big 4" Liverpool sign their 4th right winger for free? Is this the best the Premiership can now attract? The league will be a victim of it's own success and slowly but surely self-implode, leaving La Liga well and truly in number 1 spot as the best league around!!!!

quality signing. Rodriguez is a good player.
maxi rodriguez cant get into a mid table teamin la liga! obviously not the player he once was. is this type of signing the reason liverpool are struggling
How come he's available on a free?
Ah great - we've signed another 'versatile' player - Rafas excuse for playing Kuyt, Babel, Benayoun, Gerrard, Aurelio etc etc in different positions from game to game - Rafa doesnt so much rotate the team any more as rotate the flaming positions in which people play!Expect to see Maxi play behind N'gog on Saturday then right wing against Spurs with Kuyt up front then on the left against Wolves with Torres and Kuyt up front and Benayoun on the right etc etcWish we would buy someone who could only play ONE position!!!
How come he's available on a free?-----------it wasnt that his contract had run out- it was that athletico decided to let him go for free even though he was still contracted to them. and odd decision for a mid table club to allow a 'quality player' to leave like that. can't help thinking he past it
Maxi was a good player , this is where liverpool are at , this present moment they are clucthing at strawshe has gone backwards very quickly , i cant understand this one at all , the above that state he is a quality signing , need to take the blinkers off your Liverpool football club , you have signed a player that has just had his contract terminated from a middle table Spanish team , to save a few pennies , do you think if he was that good , athletico would be jumping on him to sign a new contract !!
oh and i have seen him a few times live , reminds me of garcia , who used to play for you !!
Maxi was in no mood to re-sign with Athletico, the management team and Maxi have long since fallen out. Both parties wanted to end the contract. He could have moved for free at the end of the year anyway, so therefore the contract termination was beneficial to Athleti, Maxi and Liverpool.Still, a free transfer of an Argentine international,

what a joke. as somebody has already said on here - signing a player just about to hit 3o yrs old? good grief. where's the promising young up and coming stars, where's ther youth academy. and its so gettitng boring with rafa signing spanish or spanish speaking players most of time, just like houllier went for the french ones. jeez....... no reason to get excited about a player that atletico were keen to let go and didn't cost a penny...... i'd love to be proved wrong, but this smacks of desperation.......
