Sling Jeff Lacy in, good name recognised fairly well in Europe and the US. He needs to rebuild his reputation and is a fairly grizzled competitor who can do 12 rounds no problems. If not how about Sakio Bika ? I doubt they will get an upcoming star involved at this stage as they have too much to lose.

Bute is with HBO it would be more than ideal but it's not gonna happen. Green was the original standby so I wonder if that means he'll drop out of the Bika fight? We all know Miranda has nothing to offer anymore and Bika while tough is not at the top level.
Jermain Taylor is a joke. He has (had?) the ability to be a middleweight champion for years. But lack-of-hear, desire etc got in the way. Too many average fights after he beat B-Hop.Him pulling out of this series is no surprise to me. He has no backbone.Bring Lacy in. He won't win it, but he'll add excitement, and always has a punchers' chance.
Sakio Bika. He will bring excitement and engage in some brutal matches. Sakio will win also.
It's a shame that Taylor has pulled out. I reckon he would have given Ward a hard time. He's actually an excellent boxer, he just seems to have a hard time with guys that are relentless heavy-handed bangers (Pavlik, Froch) or downright beasts (Abraham) - which Ward is neither. To me this was really the strength of the tournament - matching up different styles, plus the fact that everyone has a chance of beating each other (or at least winning the next one). That said, Taylor has been beaten 4 out of 5 with 3 knockouts and a hospitalization. He probably made the right decision. As for an opponent:Bute is the right choice - A class operator, a true super-middle weight, capable of winning the thing, everyone wants to know just how good he is...and, a title holder as wellSecond choice would be Pavlik - Tough, Heavy puncher, brings in a large American audience, but he's really a middle weight and I think he's after other fights - particularly Williams (who I actually hope takes on Floyd - but Floyd'll never have the balls)But unfortunately I hear that we're actually going to get the winner of Bika vs GreenI say unfortunately because these two simply aren't as good or as high profile as Bute & Pavlik. To be fair to Green he looks very handy - but do we really want a tournament that essentially has three highly inexperienced young Americans? If Bika wins then at least we'll some entertaining fights - Froch vs Bika would be a beauty. But there's no way Bika is winning this thing. Ward and Kessler (and maybe even Dirrell) would box him stupid. Abraham will just destroy him. Froch would probably get the better of him in a Pascal type encounter.I hope they land Bute or Pavlik, but I doubt it.
The only problem with paul Williams hes a light middleweight! love him thoygh crazy fighter
I think without a doubt if Jermain taylor had stamina he would be the best super middle weight in the world. I think really he knows hes not fit enugh to beat the likes of andre ward

id love it to be bute. but doesnt look like that can happen due to contract issues. paul williams would be a welcome addition.

Taylor just seems to be struggling with Stamina issues, thats all. In terms of skillset and athletism he is a pretty damn good fighter. great jab and has the power, just doesnt know how to rescue himself when he's hurt.

I'd like to see CHAD DAWSON come down from L Heavy. He's young, very powerful, already a world champion and is desperate for the extra TV coverage. His presence would present a real threat to the others. He would love to do it.
