What do ROI Fans reckon were our top 5 goals in the Qualifying campaign just finished .

Here's mine

(1).Glenn Whelan- home to Italy. Crafty free kick played right across the Italian penalty area. Obviously straight from the training ground. Fooled all the Italian defenders and there was Whelan waiting to smash an exquisite strike into the back of the Italian net.

(2).Robbie Keane- away to France. More for the build up than the actual strike by Robbie. Move started by Kilbane. Fed the ball to Duff out on the wing. He skinned the French defenders (as he continued to do all night) before sending a perfect pass back across the French goal area to the waiting Robbie Keane. Coolness personified from Robbie to tuck it away .

(3).Robbie Keane - away to Cyprus. Duff sends an inch perfect cross into the Cypriot penalty area. Keane times his jump to perfection and connects to send a text book header into the Cypriot goals.

(4).Glenn Whelan- away to Georgia. Screamer from way out side the box to score the ROI's second. Only reason i didn't make this my number one goal is due to the fact that the Georgian goalie fumbled the ball into the net.

(5).Sean St.Ledger - home to Italy. Bravely connected with Hunts free kick into the Italian box. Brilliant diving header to put us 2-1 up against the World Champions.

Interesting to note that Glenn Whelan who a lot of ROI supporters (including myself) had a lot of reservations about popped up to score two vital goals during the Qualification campaign.

Looking forward to the EURO 2012 qualifiers (wish they were starting next week!!) its really positive to see that the players who performed best for us over the campaign just gone will all be around for the next few years at least.

Because evry now and again he pretends to be one, like saying "i think we need to move on and get rid of the chip on our shoulder" or other twaddle.

I'm fascinated to find out why he's referring to us as "limeys" as well. <laugh>
