Take a bow SCOTLAND.

The match of the day by far. Australia showed attacking flair, they showed patience and it is simply unbelieveble that they have not won today.

But you only had to listen to the Murrayfield crowd to understand with what passion the Scots played today.

It was their absolute sheer determination that won the day. Yes in the end they let through a try with a conversion from Matt Giteau that should'nt have missed, but did.

You could see as they mnafully went into every ruck and supported their teammates with a lot of heart, even though I am sure man for man on paper didn't look like they should be able to stack up to this promising Wallaby side.

Well done Scotland, I really enjoyed that.

One thing though, Thanks to the referee who made the game flow, and he was never overbearing or even visible in the match.

To those Welsh fans who love to compare, maybe you should compare yourselves to Scotland rather than England?

Oxarta

Scotland are an average team who will never win anything of note.

Except 2 of the last 3 games against England? More pompous arrogance from a puffed up pompous windbag!

Very well done indeed Scotland. Real backs to the wall stuff and a well deserved win.

"Their skill level is uninspiring. They cannot back up. They have a losing mentality. They are lazy. And deep down they know they can get away with unacceptable performances, because player depth is so poor."

This from the Austailian press talking about the Austrailia RU team. They are not happy.

It was great defence from Scotland, something the bemused looking Borthwick and equally bemused England team fail to do, defend.

Robinson is showing the current England coaching set up what they have missed, a coach who can operate at this level.

But oh yeah, England still feel they will win the 6N in 2010 and some on here feel they will win the world cup in 2011 - deluded!!! No way, impossible, what !!!! you kidding ???

you heard it here first folks - England not to qualify outside the group stages. Yes I said it. England out after a rout. <biggrin>

Yesterday I accepted a 'put your money where your mouth is' dare from an English friend.
I don't gamble, and have never been in a bookies in my (long) life - however - I apparently did some treble thing - 3 all at HT, and Scotland to win, predicting a 9-8 victory.
For 10 I've paid for Christmas, bought some excellent single malt, and put 20 on a Scottish Grand Slam at 100-1 (bet placed BEFORE the game yesterday).
Who knows, it's happened before !
Thanks guys, I owe you all a drink.

Has Guscott been able to make comment on this game at all? Mind you - do I care? He's an insufferable little man with an over-inflated ego. It is just sooooo goooood to see him suffer and have to say something complimentary about Scotland. I have to say - I am now becoming drawn to Brian what's-his-face as a commentator. He seems to be mellowing in his old age and speaks his mind . There is no real prejudice in his comments. Guscott - learn humility.

Brian [I hate everyone but England] Moore, is mellowing just a tad, because, he has to share the commentating, with a fine Welshman...

I think the Beeb should ditch Mr Jenny Gusset before he embarrasses Auntie even more.
He's never forgiven Scotland, and he never will.
I just hope he was listening to what the BBC Radio Scotland boys, and other non English rugby people, were saying about him yesterday.
Moore's getting much better, and he's honest. We should ALL support his campaign to get straight put-ins at scrums brought back, because at the moment, it's a joke.

If I had a penny for every time I'd heard an English claiming the Scots win against Australia is only because Scotland now has an English coach, I'd have a LOT of pennies.

Fact is, Australia outclassed England and though a bit .. lucky with the missed conversion, well done to da Scotts!
