Healy starts. Paddy Wallace in the centre for this one. Good move, imo. The Bull and Flannery are fit. All good news.

Was that a misprint? Luke Fitz as an outhalf? He’s never played there for Leinster, maybe he played there for his school but no he will never be an international outhalf. Ever!

can't understand how paddy wallace gets another go in the centre, in my opinion he's had enough chances last year to prove himself, give some of the lads who actually have potential a chance to prove themselves in these games, because apart form pride they dont really matter. We've all seen paddy play and we all know what he can do if he is needed, but lets give youth a chance and blood a few players, same goes for o'gara at 10, give sexton a run out and see if he's up to the job!!

Paul Mc,

I think we have seen a lot of Paddy Wallace at 10. We have I think 3 games to base it on in which he sustained head injuries. Who exactly are these other 12s you want to play? Him and Darcy are the only people playing 12 for their province.

3 games in the 6N and 2 games on the summer tour in 2008.

I think in 2008 he was really excellent in that position when he was given license to play the kind of game we see from him at Ulster, moving the ball through the hands. The superior distribution and vision he brought to the role gave us another dimension in attack.

In the 6N the gameplan didn't suit him as much, he seemed to me a round peg in a square hole. He wasn't asked to do anything, he wasn't given the ball, and people complain he didn't have much influence doh. He made all his tackles, did well at the breakdown but was unlucky with injury and didn't get the ball in his hands enough to settle into the game or contribute all the good things he can bring to the game.

His suitability for the team depends on the gameplan. You pick the players for the tactics you want to execute. But if we want to play a bit more expansively he's by far the best option.

He's also in the best form of any 12 in Ireland. He's playing the best rugby.

Sorry notch but i would say Paddy would blush if he was to read the excuses you have laid out for him!

He was outstanding on the tour down under and i was personally delighted he got a run of games in his best position for ireland and should have started way more games there under EOS.
However i was disappointed with his contribution./ He stood up in defence when many people who didnt know his game expected him to fail but i was expecting much more from him with ball in hand. I really cant remember him creating anything for anyone.its up to him to get himself involved in games. you cant say he wasn't asked to do anything???????????winkeye
i personally would have liked to have seen Bowe or Fitz go in to the centre with bod at 12 and bring earls on to the wing but have faith in Paddy to pull out a performance
