Another operation needed. FFS. Did Moyes run over a black cat or something?

I told ya. We need to just survive this season. It is all what counts. 17th will do nicely. And it could be even better if RS finish below us in May. biggrin

Expect to see Chris Woods in goal before end of the season...

such an unlucky lad, missing the FA cup final was bad enough and now when his club needs him most another set back.

RE: Sir_Claret_of_Blue

As hilarious as you might find serious injuries to perfectly decent human beings, Everton have actually finished in the top 4 within the last 5 years. Judging by your username, I'm pretty confident that isn't true of your club, so it'd probably be best if you had some quiet time now.

I do feel sorry for our millionaires who are struggling to recover, but I feel sorrier for all the fans who are missing out on seeing some excellent players help us win matches. Realistically, we are now just looking to get out of the bottom half of the table. Anything more will be a miracle, but I don't care. I'm as happy to be an Everton fan whether we win or lose. But what is it about our play or training that wrecks the knees? Swivelling too quickly to watch the opposition run past us?

I don't know anyone who said we were a top 4 club. I certainly wouldn't claim that, by the end of the season we will be safe in the table and safe in the knowledge that many of the best teams would not have been able to cope with the never ending injury list that we have. No matter how grim it may look we are unrivalled in our ability to stay in the top flight, all the big 4 bar Arsenal I believe have played lower division football in the not so recent past.

That's bad news. In my opinion he is one of the finest defenders in the league. I hope he recovers soon and regains his form quickly.

Well, 'unrivalled' isn't quite true Spoontown, Arsenal have *never* been out of the top flight.

Overall i agree with other posters about our realistic aspirations for this season. I think the lower reaches of the Top 10 will be a good, and attainable, finish. A good Europa League and / or FA Cup run will be a bonus.

I agree with comments on other threads that we are sadly lacking in flair and technical ability, with the exception of a few players, most of whom are currently injured. David needs to add a few of these in all parts of the field. The jury is still out with Fellaini, although he is capable of some lovely touches. Jo has disappointed and James Vaughan, who i thought was on loan but is shown on that physio site has being (yet again) injured, looks like one of those players who will be haunted by injury all his career, and therefore a bit of a liability. It's a shame that the same can be said of Saha, because when he's on the field he's a joy to watch.

But let's look on the positive side. We might start next season with all our key players fit, and hopefully David Moyes will have further strengthen the squad, and we can then push on to higher things, including a return to Europe the following season. In the meantime, some of the young academy players such as Gosling and Rodwell are getting a chance to learn their trade at the top level and players such as Bilyaletdinov, who looks very promising, getting the time to fully bed in. This can only be good in the long term. By next season we might have a very strong squad with all our key players fit, a few more quality buys, and some of the young academy players well on their way to becoming the finished article themselves.
