What does MON see in Heskey? He is a clown, Not good enough for Villa or England.

MON should have started with L.Young, twice the player of Beye.

Disapointed, But you win some and you loose some. Lets Take it out on bolton this weekend :)

And I for one Cobra, can't stand fans that think their fellow Villains should be denied a voice when they think there are problems with whats happening at their club, regarless of what it is, team, boardroon, whatever.

Real fans care, and caring doesn't just mean blindly supporting everything that happens at the club in the name of 'loyalty'. I do not support MON, I support Aston Villa, thats the bottom line for me.

MON has many faults, and his insistance in playing people out of position, and lack of signing the goal scorer and creative midfielder we have needed for 2 seasons are just two of them. Mind you, at least we finally have some choice at right back, after going 18 months without one.

Wow, how many villa fans thought/think they have what it takes to break the top 4??? seriously??? oh my. Yes you had a good season last year but no way do you have what it takes to get in the top 4. Happy we won last night was a good win. Yes it was never a penalty but nor was yours just that we finished ours you didn't.....

Ah yes, the 'goal scorer' and the 'creative midfielder'. The last hiding place of the football dunce when it comes to arguing about why there team is under achieving.

Who are these players?! I have seen scores or 'creative midfielders' come to ther premier league and flop but very few picked up by mid-table clubs and change that teams fortunes.

As for the lesser spotted 20 goal a season striker, you try drawing up a list of 20 goal strikers in the premier leagues history, you will find it is not a long one.

Four away games in a row clearly took their toll on Villa. Also the referee was utterly, utterly useless. Bad decision after bad decision.

That said we created more chances and missed a penalty, could have been a very different result with a slice of luck.

However I wasn't happy with the way our players went about their business after we equalised. Energy levels dropped, desire to get maximum points was non existent.

Villa are a great team when allowed to counter-attack. But when the onus is on us to control a game, to attack the opposition, we are lacking. In fact at such times we really feel the loss of Barry.

I like Sidwell but our game is crying out for a rejuvenated Downing in the middle. We need his ability to switch play and to create in the middle.

No way are we good enough to finish top four, but we have to aim for 5th or 6th place.

Good point.I think things can be too comfortable for some of the Villa team and complacency can creep in

The onus is on MON to keep everyone on their toes-a 1st team place isn't a divine right and must be earned-and if they aren't delivering-drop them.

Sorry to say this, but last night shows one more reason why we need to find a replacement for Barry - and quick: penalties. The fact that any professional footballer can miss from 12 yards is pathetic, but nevertheless, they do. During the next training session, someone has got to practice taking these for hours until they get a score ratio of well over 90%. Defenders can usually strike a dead ball quite hard, so why doesn't Martin try Dunne, Collins or Warnock?

Cobra, we're all quite peed off that we lost last night, but don't take it out on the rest of us who don't like a certain player, because that's what makes life interesting about being a football fan, debating about who's good & useless. We're not idiots, we've just got an opinion & if you don't like other peoples opinions go & join the BNP.

I don't like Heskey but I agree that Carew hasn't been much good either, but I do think his worth ethic is better, although they're both in the "lumbering logs of oak" style of striker that MON has always liked.

I think we will beat Bolton because after a non performance they do usually roar back duly chastened after a tongue lashing from the boss.

P.S. Anyone got a right back we can borrow?!

When will Villa fans face up to reality and recognise that Martin O'Neill is merely contriving to take the team sideways, and not upwards?
Despite an influx of new talent, there is no consistency under his stewardship.

If you cannot see what Heskey brings to a side, YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE GAME.

I stopped reading after that.

Cobra.....listen lad.

I never said anything about a 20 goal striker,I was actually reffering to a 'natural goal scorer' which is something we havn't got, and havn't had under MON's stewardship. Whilst we're on the subject, heres a name for you 'Darren Bent' who would have probably walked to Villa Park in the Summer. I think the other thing is that it would at least be nice if MON had even brought someone in from abroad for this purpose, it would have shown willing. Instead we start the season with a woefully out of form Gab (who I admit did come back better, but that was a big gamble on MON's part) and two guys who will score 15 goal between them if we're lucky. Teams looking to push on from the top 6 need better than that, and everyone knows that, yes even you my son.

Talking about the 'last hiding place of the football dunce' (did it take you all that time to come up with that one?), is it not obvious to you , as it is to everyone else, that we have a midfield loaded with defencive guys, and hard workers, with no real cutting edge?!. Barry was the nearest thing we had to that, and he's gone...MON has not replaced him fact.

It would have been nice if you had addressed my main point, rather than focusing on the only thing you clearly have the intellect to pick apart (namely the striker/CMF comment). Im still waiting for some comment regarding the view that real fans care, and are allowed to voice their opinions on matters that concern them about the club. Sorry though lad, your chance has gone, as you would have responded on this subject in your last message if you actually had an argument.

If you read the comments subsequent to your original email, I think you will find im not the only one in dissagreement with you either, so face the music or move on.
