As it says in the title, anyone think so? Personally I hope not because I think they should win it in style at home in their new park.

Just read that Pettitte has actually quite a nice record in post season with short rest (I know his total record with short rest isn't great).
3-1 and ERA of 2.8something. Also as he's not a massive fastball pitcher, the short rest shouldn't hurt him as much as some others.
I'm guessing for possible game 7 Phillies will have to go for Blanton on short rest. I really don't think they will give Hamels another try in a decider.

I hope the Yankees get it done in 6. If it goes to 7 and I was the Phillies coach I would definitely start with Lee, and as a Yankee fan I would be worried.

You have to start a game like that with your best pitcher surely?

No team has won a World Series game 7 away from home...

Apart from 1979, 1975, 1972, 1971, 1968, 1967, 1965, 1962 and other times that is.doh

The decision to start CC on 3 days rest (and the decision to not start Cliff Lee on 3 days rest) could be what decides this series, as someone alluded to above. What bites is that if the Phils can win tomorrow, they'll likely give game 7 to Cole Hamels, who would face CC.

This is the same Cole Hamels who has and ERA higher than the number of fingers on my left hand this postseason, and is the same man who was quoted after game 4 as saying "I cannot wait for this to be over."

But with the Yanks throwing 2 starters out there on less than full rest, this could get interesting. Go Phils!

And to the poster before me, I think you mean easy winners tomorrow night.doh

"easy winners tonight." Funny how that is what most of the media here in the states was inclined to say before game one, and roughly 24 hours ago. You've got to win four games before you gloat, not three.

I hope they play some Sinatra. How about:
"Guess I'll Hang My Tears Out to Dry"
or
"I guess I'll Have to Change My Plans"

Hi all, long time listener, first time caller. smiley

As has been pointed out, the visiting team has won Game 7 on several occasions in the Fall Classic. While I'm less certain about the Stanley Cup, I can say it has happened as recently as... June of this year. The visiting Pittsburgh Penguins took Game 7 from Detroit. Also, Game 7 of the 1979 WS was won by the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates. Coincidence? Maybe only Pennsylvania teams win Game 7s away... <fingers crossed>
