In Fabio We Trust.

World Cup England
comment on the article

A lot of debate is going on right now about which 23 players should make the plane.
At the end of the day I believe we should just trust Fabio to make the right choices. I think he is by far the best manager we have had in a eon and so far has not let us down.
No matter who he picks and who he leaves out he will be sure to come in for a lot of flak.
Please. lets all give the guy a break and get behind him.
In Fabio we trust.

yep thats the point england have goals from all over- he means a striker, not a naturakl goal scorer..

and walcott and defoe could both be that striker option anyway..

does the guy forget that england were in the highest ranked euro group(3 teams top 15 at the start of the campaign)- yet still scored the most goals bar any team in europe..

lets forget all that shall we lol..

yes we can forget it because rankings and goals in qualifying dont win you world cups or european championships. We all watched England play against the quality opposition you need to beat to win tournaments, Spain outpassed outplayed and beaten quite easily, there the standards required and for me England come up short. Sure they have a chance but so do 6 to 8 other countries. I dont see Englands chances being any better than they were in Germany maybe with the exception of a fit Rooney. If you think England are going to romp through the world cup scoring goals from all over the place beating quality teams by 4 and 5 you are going to be in for a shock i believe.

we can score goals, there is no problem in that department- against quailty team--- well i cant see them scoring many on us, in the same way england are also a quality team but also wont be able to score many against them.. it will be down to the day..

england have a chance, but so do another 6 teams.

its that straight forward..

engalnd may lack balance if our squad isnt full with our best players..

whereas spain and brazil will have a team and bench as good as our best one team probally whatever..

but we england have a manger that is proving to be able to adapt to any given situation(mid game), that is just as big a plus.

If only there was some way that Darren Bent could finally learn to transfer his Premier League form onto the International stage...
He's been probably the best English finisher in the PL for some years now. Look at him now.

Oh and I think it's worth mentioning that Rooney has a better goal per game ratio for England than Henry does for Les Bleus. Don't believe me?

Rooney: 25 goals, 55 caps (0.45 goals per game)
Henry: 51 goals, 115 caps (0.44 goals per game)
Toni: 16 goals, 47 caps (0.34 goals per game)
Torres: 23 goals, 70 caps (0.33 goals per game)

IF Rooney has an injury-free World Cup, I'm confident we WILL get those goals.

I don't agree that a major tournament cannot be won without an out-and-out goalscorer, but I'd like to remark that Henry isn't really France's goal-getter, it's Trezeguet, and Torres isn't Spain's either, it's David Villa:

Trezeguet: 34 goals in 66 games (0.52 goals per game)
Villa: 33 goals in 52 games (0.63 goals per game)

No doubt about it - all he has to do is continue to start only against Kasakhstan, San Marino and co. <ok>

i wouldnt start the lad , just making a point that stats are not the be all and end ,

england at the mo hav e many total footballers

a. cole g. johnson, f lampoard, w rooney, s gerrard, walcott, lennon

all can score and could fit into various positions..

england have no problme with scoring at ll..

and when we do the manager seems to know exactly what to do to rectify it!"!
