Pechonkina calls it a day

comment on the article

Russian Yulia Pechonkina, the current 400m hurdles world record holder, is to retire from athletics after suffering three years of health problems.

The 31-year-old is heading for a job in a bank apparently. What are your favourite memories of her and how good would a showdown between her and Melanie Walker have been this summer?

Melanie Walker have been this summer?
What about Pitman, those two have been injured for longer than they have competed for, very disapointing end to their rivalery, and a shame at we hardly see the best go toe to toe

It's a pity Pechonkina is retiring....

I would've enjoyed seeing a fit-again Pechonkina racing against Melaine Walker. Demus seems to blow hot and cold....

Maybe Walker's best challenge may come from her young compatriot, Kaliese Spencer.

Oh so you are questioning this athlete Shiv?

Bit hypocritical isn't it?

Vanishing for periods then coming out and setting records.............?
