Great win England, main batsmen actually performed well for a change, bowling mediocre, Anderson did well, but Onions expensive again & no wickets. Why not pick Harmeson, who has a good track record & regularly bowls over 90 mph (more than any current England bowler). I can't believe the ECB have picked theirs & no one else's favourite Bopara again & guess what, he was moved down the order to No 7 (during the match, that's how much confident they have in him) & still only gets 1, not a great surprise to us. These people at ECB never seem to learn any lessons, as most sports organisation do. There is absolutely no reason to pick this man at present (he hasn't demonstrated any recent form for England), in favour of vastly more suitable contenders, like Bell, Key, Trot, to name a few. These people do not seem to understand, what most sports people know, that the main criteria for selecting sportsmen is performance & favouritism has no part to play.
We must not be too complacent, because we had a great win, we must always pick the best players available, Mr ex-Zimbabwe coach & how about a good reserve wicket-keeper like James Foster, just got 83 out of 38 balls (Pro-40), where are the ECB scouts.

Congrats England on a great performance! So happy for Shah, he's always been my 2nd favourite player after KP, precisely because of this mix of strokeplay and big hitting ability.

Also great to see Morgan emerging as a genuine talent, hopefully for many years to come and maybe at last Jimmy will be able to bring some consistency to his bowling and Broad will continue to learn and improve.

As to Smith, congrats on a great innings, I personlly think he should have had a runner and also got motm, I think it should always go to the best performance, regardless of who wins.

However, if it had been the other way round, all the moaning Saffers above would have called Eng sore losers and whingers about complaining because Smith didn't give Strauss a runner when Eng lost anyway.

So, as everyone can see, any team which loses will have whingeing fans, be they SA, Eng, Aus, Ind or whoever. Ultimately, all the moaning SA fans and Welsh Wizard (who clearly has more issues than can be addressed here) simply cannot accept the fact that SA were outplayed by Eng fair and square in this match. (The runner would have made no difference to the outcome and Strauss was clearly not breaking any rules or the umpires would have intervened. Also, anyone questioning Strauss's integrity should have a long hard think if Smith would EVER have called Mathews back vs SL - Strauss went beyond the call of duty with that gesture).

I think it will be a great series in SA coming up with Eng but for now, best of luck to Eng in the rest of the tournament!

PS - It is an absolute disgrace that there is no radio commentary or terrestrial TV highlights for this tournament in the UK.

I fully agree!

What a shame, how regrettable! Then they lament dwindling fan support across the globe!

There is absolutely no excuse for this!

Oh, is tbat what our game has come to: money?

I'd love to think we can win it but I don't. We have always had the ability to be competetive against most sides in most formats. However, a poor performance is just around the corner. Maybe a batting collapse of embarrassing proportions or our opposition bashing 350. Please let me be proved wrong! Also shame about the lack of coverage. The ICC/ECB etc really are trying to screw up cricket and succeeding but I won't go into that.
