It's interesting that the difference makers today were both ex-Villa centre backs.

Oh and the questions that have been asked over the last week.

Benitez how will Bolton cope? I think we coped easily enough.

Johnson vs Davies? Always going to be only 1 winner. Davies wound him round his little finger to the point that Johnson got booked for crying to much at the ref.

Kevin 'i always score versus Bolton' Phillips. I winced as soon as he came on.

I think it's fair to say you had the better of the game. But when we attacked we always looked more likley to score. If we didn't have the annoying nack of sitting back every time we had a lead, maybe we'd have finished the game earlier.

Nice having abit of banter with you over the past week. ;-) I do hope and think you'll stay up.

Come back later in the season.

Bitter Bitter Brummies.

We played very good counter attacking football. I think Megsons gameplans do work better away from home as we can soak up the pressure instead of taking it to teams.

Birmingham were very poor, AM is as negative as Megson at home.

Cahill was outstanding. To say he isnt good enough for England shows a total lack of football knowledge. If he wasnt good enough for England then why has he been in the England squad for the past few games?

Johnson is average compared to him.

Thanks for the 3 points.

That may very well be the case but it doesn't make your players any better!

I'll put a rubber stamped guarantee on this 606 thread that Chucho Benitez is twice the player as Kevin Davies. He'll prove me right in the next year and you can hold me to it. Thanks.ok

Hmmm, people need to remember that although Kevin Davies might not have pace or fancy flicks, he's an awesome target man.

His job might not be glamorous, but he does what he does very well.

If Davies is so awful, why is he our captain and is constantly picked for the first XI?

I'll tell you why.
He is no Torres, he doesnt have the quality
He is no Defoe, he doesn't have the pace
But what he is, is a fantastic target

As Brummerdickens says, he might not be glamourous, but he does his job

WHo, might I ask, flicked on the throw-in from which Bolton scored?
Who was it?

Was his name KEVIN DAVIES by any chance??!!

Twice as good? No, he needs to be about 10 million times better if you want him to be value for money compared to Davies.

...to clarify, that means it doesn't make your players any better than what THEY are, seeing as you couldn't work that one out for yourself :P

Hot air fella......

Davies has proved his worth in this league.

Davies has proved his worth to Bolton Wanderers.

Your still trying to come up with a song and name for your man. And your yet to see his goal celebration??

Birmingham would snatch your hand off if you offered them Kevin Davies for their team.

bolton offered nothing but 2 set peices we should have dealt comfortably with. they dont play football but time waste and play the stoke way of playing for free kicks etc. they are a poor team and their support was shocking. but we will learn not to switch off we have to.
