Honest opinions, is this move to the EPL 2 or whatever really what we need?

This could be the biggest decision the club ever makes.

Quick poll everybody on here must have an opinion, although we may not have a say if it happens

EPL 2 yes/no and why

To be honest, I don't really see why not, it'd just be hilarious to see thw 'Old Firm' collapse under the might of the likes of Fulham, Villa, Everton, MCity.. C&R are not, and never will be good enough to compete for Europe in the EPL so for their own European sake, stay there in the ever-thrilling(NOT)SPL.

But please for the comedy side of football, let them join and be exiled into the BS-S/N!

Two reasons why Ranger's & Celtic should not be let into the premeirship.First bearing in mind when with England Hosting the 2012 Olympics, when they said it would be good for a British Soccer team to be entered,it was Scotland that was the loudest voice saying NO to that, that it would or might effect there independence from England. So the same would be said or the premeir league except for one thing, the money involved in the premeirship we all know is huge,& it seems that when it comes to money to be made,Scotland dosnt seem to worry so much about joining the English leagues, slight smell of Scottish hypocracy there methinks.
Secondly,as we have seen from Celtic & ranges performancies recently in both the Erupoa & Champions Leagues, they not really good enough anyhow,i would say they are at the same level as a mid range Championship side at the moment.
Thirdly, people like Moyes goes on about, well it would be good for all concern, generating more cash, benifiting all.
Poppycock Mr Im a Scot Moyes, the only one it would benifit is the two Scottish Team,s as the premeirship already has the biggest amount of cash comming into it anyhow, more than any other league

Oh yeah one other point i missed out on my last comment was this, there is no way on Hells earth the vast majority of Clubs in the present premeir league would agree to a 2 tier premeir league of 18 teams in each, why not you might say, simple, because the at present amount of about 650 to 700 million pounds that is at the moment mainly split between 20 clubs would have to be split between 36 teams, what club especialy the smaller clubs is going to vote to lose a whole lot of revenue(which they would).

The sooner they come down the better. They both get crowds in excess of 50,000 week in week out. Too many EPL games are played in front of half empty stadiums between two teams whose main aim is league survival. Don't tell me we've got the best league in the world - blimey Hull City are in it!

rubbish teams, mid championship sides.

would provide the final, killing blow to scottish football.

BUT, on the bright side, it would have to get the EPL more champions league places

What would happen if one of them got relegated.

Would they play in the Championship or would they head back over the border with their tails between their legs?

And what would happen if one of them won the Carling or FA Cup? Remember when Cardiff got to the cupo final a couple of years ago and UEFA's indecision - will they wont they will they wont they be allowed to represent the English league in European Competition...

yes every real fan in scotland wants rangersceltic to go so scottish football can find its real level, but how unfair would this move be on championship/league one clubs and the knock on effect down through the lower leagues on english clubs with long histories and aspirations of moving up. the very thought of ira songs being sung in manchester/birmingham/london makes me cringe, scottish football needs to change soon and supporrt for the game itself must come before finacial glory

why dont they get rid of the carling cup and replace it with a british cup involving the top scottish, welsh, irish teams to play against english sides

I think that's a great idea. The only thing that I think would put a spanner in the works is that, such is the importance, for the top teams, of getting to Europe, I fear the Premier League sides will put out the same weakened sides seen in the early rounds of the Carling Cup. Even the top Championship sides would field weakened sides as promotion is always going to be their number one priority.
Perhaps if UEFA were to sanction a place in the Champions League Qualifying Round for the winner......but I think we all know that there will be a white Christmas in Sydney before that would be allowed to happen!

Yes it should happen, bigger and better Premier League format (2 tier format), reduce yo-yo effect, perhaps bad for SPL (as an organisation) but other Scottish Clubs seem to be open to it. In general as long as C&R have a basic scottish first recruitment and academy structure & policy then Scotland's national team will benefit.
