Championship Newcastle United

The below article is regarding Newcastle signing Blackburn defender Zurab Khizanishvili for 3 months. What do we think to this? IMO I canít see the point, other than the cauliflower we seem to be ok at the back, what we do need is a striker, we have no one who can seem to convert.

Surely reason enough for this loan move? winkeye

I agree though, we do need another striker, but only once we get some pace and creativity in midfield, otherwise it won't make any difference

good signing when he is match fit. very calm on the ball, will pass instead of kick it long. but he is very very slow, he has to play cb coz if he plays rb he will be found out.

good luck

We've only really got 3 CB's, and one has just come into the squad from the reserves. We definately needed another, and hopefully Khizinashvili will do a better job than Colo.

As a blackburn fan i have watched khizanishvili over 3 seasons of first team football. He's a good loan deal for newcastle- a great auxilary cb/rb. is consistent and may score the odd goal or 2 in the champ

Anyone has to be better than ColonCleanse. I guess he has earned that nickname as I empty my bowels when I see someone heading towards him in defence

Even if he's not the quickest of defenders he's obviously an experienced one and that's something we need at the moment.

We are very thin at the back and he'll give much needed options.

Now we need a right winger and a forward. I know people keep saying LM but Jonas is forging a great partnership with Enrique so I think a right winger is more urgent. Only so many times u can play Ryan Taylor there.

Not a bad signing - defo need cover at CB & RB and good he can do both - its a definate that he will be needed at some point over the 3 months - just need an extra bit of guile and creativity in midfield and another striker and I think we'll be sorted - young lads are looking good taboot

Rovers fan in peace. Great signing for you guys, if you can get him match fit, on his day he'll win you games single handedly, very good reader of the game and he's always playing for his country, one of Georgia's top players over the last decade. Agree with alot of people regarding his pace. He is very slow but alot of the world's centre backs don't have pace. They just make up for it with their reading of the game. I'm not saying Zurab is John Terry now but he is very good. Good luck Newcastle. The Premier League isn't the same without you guys. Get back up here!!!!

cheers hero3279

From reading yours and other Rovers fans comments on here over the last few days, it actually seems like we've got ourselves a decent player in on loan

Who'd have thought it?
