Tell you what tho, running around a wet pitch in a drenched kit with heavy legs after the fight we had on Saturday takes some doing. All credit to the boys for pulling off a creditable win. Its easy to say we should be beating every team 3 or 4 nil but its all about tactics, and if it was that easy then we would all be premiership managers wouldn't we. The only thing that trumps good tactics is poor officials. Otherwise we would have been in the CL final last year.

Arsenal fan in peace.Really glad I watched this match over the Man U one, it was a very fast game full of end to end attacking football.Anelka did very well to score the goal from an amazing save from the Porto keeper, it was a very good finish.I think you were a bit lucky to stay ahead at times, especially near the end of the game where Porto went on full assault. Good result, but I can see Porto edging it in their home game. Good luck, always good to see English teams do well, even if it is Chelsea .
we won that's it! good
unbeatableAlexblue8 (U13875549)you are an idiot and dont ever watch chelsea play, if you did you would know we have amazing strength in depthshehzadn (U10595147)you are an idiot did you not pay attention to what porto were doing? it wasnt us with the defensive mindset.aforeigner (U4648357)by ricochets do you mean passed? because thats what i saw, kalou passing it between the oppositions defense. arsenaldan89 (U14046035)nice to see someone actually agrees with me that it was quite a good game, although a bit to open for my liking. still id rather have an open game than them defending with 10 men like before the goal!
A bit disappointed with ancelottis tactics, why didnt he bring on sturridge for kalou or ballack, he only needed to tweak the formation and we would have scored more goals, porto is a good side but not exactly a barcelona or real team, we cant have this kind of mindset bringing on belletti to defend a 1-0 lead its not going to last forever unfortunately
"Defensive mindset"? What are you on about? After an hour we'd had 20 shots at goal. Their keeper played a blinder and in the horrendous conditions both teams did their best to entertain. Loftus Road is only a free kick away from the Bridge and their game last night was called off.I haven't checked the stats but I'm willing to bet that in every game so far we've had more shots at goal than our opponents. Sure we'd all love to see more of them hitting the back of the net but I'm happy that we're creating chances from the first minute to the 98th! I'm at a loss at anyone questioning Ancelotti's tactics - what more can the man do than deliver victory after victory?
Ancelotti is wise enough to know that at this stage of the competition itís not about how you win itís ensuring that you do win. Chelsea will sought to play the brand of football that will outclass teams as the Champions League progresses but at this early stage itís all about getting the points on the board to move on whilst juggling domestic duties.http://sportales.com/soccer/chelsea-can-win-the-lottie-now/
There is no better way to play than the way chelsea did in the match considering the condition the game was played under a torrential downpour. All that counts for now is the point, which was deservedly taken.
It was a hard won victory partly due to the rain, partly to the formation and narrowness of CFCs play and also to the aggression of Porto. Anelka took his goal really well. Lampard had a couple of chances and Kalou had a header brilliantly saved. Porto are previous winners and it showed last night. They are not the best team in it but they are combative and have self-belief. They would have tested many teams on that showing that includes all the British teams. I would like more width for the next match - Ballack was off colour for sure and Essien spent half the match giving the ball away even at the end when it was crucial not to.
It wasn't a great game. Rain and Saturday's energy sapper at the Britania were contributory factors. My tough luck Anelka goal was the only part of the telecast I missed. Kalou seems a bit jinxed. He had a poor game but a good header for Porto keeper to shine it away. Porto will not be easy to take down away.Chelsea's next assignment is going to be a big one against Spurs. Excuses will not do.
