What a wash out

US Open

So far the Us Open has failed to ignite a spark
of interest in Fans due to the rain. OK We have
rain in the GB but what we DON'T have is Television
Companies seemingly dictating the order of play to
suit their "Sponsors".

Get your act together NY or withdraw from the Grand
Slam competitions altogether.

Rant Over (Phew)

I think the US tennis federation should come in line with the rest of the slams. Why have three days to play first round matches when the rest only take two, the French even start a day early to allow for the weather.
I know the USA have a Canut way of thinking about everything, ie., that everything they want can be got or bought by force of will, but it won't wash with mother nature. You can believe in whatever sky-gods you choose, and she will have the last laugh every time.
BTW: Glorious weather here in UK.

I have said this many times on American forums: American sports fans want to have their cake and eat it. America admires (almost worships) the free market economy and everyone's right to make a profit. But when the inevitable results spoil their entertainment, they somehow expect the commercial interests concerned to abandon the right-to-profit principle and be all noble and ethical. 'Tain't gonna happen, folks! Yummy, I assume you're not American, but you're asking the US of A to behave out of character.
