I think Flynn should stay with the U21s. We don't want to hinder the development of those youth players by promoting their manager into the main hotseat. We just need a good manager for the senior team and Flynn will keep doing what he is proven to be good at, developing the Welsh Under-21s.I wasn't impressed with Ramsey today, he seemed to get stuck in at the start, but he looked tired and lazy throughout the second half (aside when he was on the ball). Ledley did OK, but I thought Stock stood out in the midfield for me. Williams had a good game and Gabbidon was solid. Collins was awesome! Gunter was shaky, Ricketts was good going forward but not so great in defence. Bellamy did well but was isolated too often, Edwards did what he could do, but wasn't great really, shows great promise though! I'm looking forwards to the Under-21 team graduating into the senior side! There is a lot of promise in the young players and we could well get very close to qualifying in the next campaign!

comment by Yorkshire Bluebird - CCFC's Premiership Kitman 2010-2011 (U7040986)posted 11 Hours AgoJust add my comments, beaten by a more 'Professional' team. It's time UEFA start clamping down on obvious cheating!Eduardo's been pillorised so how about picking any 6 from the Russia team. Ah well not sour grapes but comments from a former player who respects players who want to play football!-----------------------------------------------How about Wales' very own Sam Ricketts (I think it was him) producing an Olympics worthy dive early in the second half to win a free kick on the right hand side of the field?
Collins was awesome!--------------------Glad to hear that! Better luck next time Wales
leave flynn where he is doing a great job...any other manager we could have - speed, giggs, coleman - that is welsh (as the faw dont seem to want a foreign manager) would only use the job as a stepping stone for a better job at fulham or stoke or blackburn. at least with toshack we know he isnt using us to get himself a better job since hes done most of them already.
Toshack needs time still - he can do nothing unless the young talent emerges and starts to punch above its weight. Wales are a better side than the FIFA rankings say - they are trapped in a cyclical ranking/grouping system that penalises smaller teams in Europe. They are consistently better than 20-30 of the African, South American even European team above them but can never get into an easier grouping that enables them to to show that. Would England qualify 1st or 2nd if in a group with Russia and Germany? Wales would have stood a better chance in England's group.
I think our national team are doing reasonably well. We can't be expected to beat teams like Russia and Germany when half of our (very young) team plays in the Championship and most of the rest are not first team choices in their Premiership clubs (e.g. Ramsey, Bellamy). We will improve and hopefully some of the younger players will develop into first team players at the top clubs. But we have a while to go before then.
how much time does toshack need? he seems to be hiding behind the odd decent performance but this is not enough and we now require results. he's had the time and wales seem to take one step forward and two steps back under toshack. he is a good manager but it is not working at the moment as i fear where we will be after another 2 years of his leadership. 2004 seems a lifetime ago
I cannot believe that the author of this article is Russian,or has anything to do with that Country ,or the fine people who hail from there. He can surely only be an englishperson, pretending to be Russian!!!
VETCHETARIAN: I am Russian indeed!!! A proud Russian! I'm 32 years old and lived in the USA for 6 years (college anf high school) and was grown in Austria. But I a,s Russian and live in Moscow. I consider myself being cosmopolitan since I travel all over the world all the time, and I do wish the Welsh team all the luck because they show character and spirit. I am Russian indeed and am proud to be Russian just like you are proud to be Welsh! And, everything I wrote was very sincere....sorry if I misspelled words......I'm only human
VETCHETARIAN: also, I knew that if we were to lose pints it would be in Wales since Wales is the only tough team in the group besides Germany. You are probably English my friend (mate).... don't judge me hard... dude... :D
