Premier League
comment on the article

I hope you lot have got your breath back after yesterday - it was a bit of a cracker wasn't it? And I've got good news...the opening weekend of the 2009/10 Premier League is not over yet...

Reigning champions Manchester United join the party today, kicking off the defence of their title against newly-promoted Birmingham at 1330 BST. That match is followed by a humdinger at White Hart Lane between Tottenham and Liverpool at 1600 BST - not a bad way to test the Reds' title credentials that...

You can follow all the action here:

Enjoy, and don't forget to let me know what you are thinking now, and as the day unfolds...

And another thing: The European Capital of Culture 2008 award was shared between two cities:
Liverpool, and Stavanger, in Norway. The 2009 award is being shared between Lithuanian capital Vilnius and Linz, in Austria.
A 2004 study by the European Culture Commission (Palmer Study) demonstrated that the choice of European Capital of Culture served as a catalyst for the cultural development and the transformation of the city. Consequently, the beneficial socio-economic development and impact for the chosen city is the main consideration in determining the chosen cities.
In other words, they pick you if they think you are in need of culture. So I'd stop boasting if I were you.

>>The introduction of Crouch ruined the rythm. He cannot play in this team

I don't think so. Nothing was forcing you to hoof it long to him.

Every team seems to do that and I feel bad for Crouchy because of it. Maybe it's just too tempting.

Copy and paste whoever it was who was boasting, please, I didnt catch any. And for a 'need of culture' in Liverpool, as displayed prominently in the wikipedia excerpt you've interpreted for us (big naughty of you not to state your source), there's this:

http://www.liverpool08.com/about/ which includes:

"There's so much to discover in Liverpool, a city which has been a cultural beacon for centuries. European Capital of Culture 2008 gives us the chance to share its unparalleled cultural offer with the whole world. And with nearly two million extra visitors expected to visit this year, there's never been a more exciting time for the city."

'City of Culture' is not an exact 'need' to develop culture in the city.

Apart from The Beatles, and trade unionism, what is the cultural significance of Liverpool?

No wait... Ladytron also formed in Liverpool.

Now what?

Started to watch it earlier. Watched it until 1-1, then the stream got choppy, so I closed it.

Score now?
