Premier League Manchester City

Fantastic start to the season.

If we can have games where we don't gel fully and can still get a win then we are onto a good thing.

The slickness and finesse will come with time and practice. I am over the moon though.

Loving it.

"65 minutes: Carlos Tevez comes on in place of Craig Bellamy."

united fan in peace, good start to the league for you, blackburn away first game was a potential tricky one, yet you looked pretty assured all game. lets see if you can keep it up, looking forward to the derbies even more now.

I see Manchester City are languishing in second place, well behind the pace set by Arsenal. SACK HUGHES NOW!!!

Aye?? You did struggle - a lot! Did you not read the match report or see the game? Given was Man of the Match and your defence couldn't cope with us. you were lucky that we we so poor in front of goal, cos to me it read and looked like we had several excellent chances and we either missed or Given (former rover) was in excellent form.

If you continue to play this way and be please you are gonna have the same season as always.

You need to get rid of Dunne and you need a big tall proven defender. I know City have gone after proven premiership players and that is totally understandable and a very wise move but you need one of the best defenders and right backs in the world and the ones in the premiership are not going to go to East Lands.

Therefore you need to look around for someone who will adapt quickly.

I personally do not think Lescott or Upson are what you need (lescott is very very good, but I don't see him as the best centre back in the world or top ten, same with Upson).

You need a defence to build on and Dunne just isn't a rock that he needs to be - you need to ask yourselves if we buy X could I see him playing for Man Utd, Barca etc then if the answer is yes that's what you want.

You've been paying over the odds for average talent from day 1, why stop now. Lescott for 20-25 mil is perfect for you.

Not sure if that is aimed at me but I am a rovers fan but yes city have been paying over the odds.

That's exactly what happened with Blackburn a while back (when we had money) people knew and exploited it, but if City are happy to pay it then go for it.

Ashley Ward was the ultimate example. We needed a striker and quickly as we were sinking without a trace, no one either wanted to sell to us or the player didn't want to go so we had to pay 5 million for him (without sounding too old - which was a lot of money back then). He was the best striker we could get and unfortunately for us he wasn't good enough (everyone including us knew but they had to take a gamble).
