Lewis Hamilton; FLAWLESS.

Formula One
comment on the article

This was an amazing drive by Lewis. He is in the third fastest car on the grid, starts from 4th but defies the odds and wins. He was faster than Alonso who was 8 laps lighter, he was faster than Kimi and Webber who were lighter than him, his overtake on Webber was great, he maintained his tyres better than anyone, he was a second faster than his team-mate the majority of the time, his drive was flawless today, he didn't make one mistake through the race.
This win now elevates him above Alonso in my opinion. :)

no Tony it's not only 'my view', it's the view of many British sports fans that i personally know..i'm sure i made that quite clear..and as for him coming second in SPOTY, Zara Phillips won it the other year!!!!again you refuse to argue the point and prefer to use words like pathetic and generally act like a kid

and as for 'taking away the pleasure people feel'...are you serious? <laugh> this is a discussion board, not the Lewis Hamilton appreciation society!!

oh sorry, I apologise TonyR, it was United Dreamer who come up with the 'SPOTY' and 'colour of his skin' arguements <doh>

The SPOTY awards, imperfect as they undoubtedly are, are a far, far, far, far more objective measure than you saying he is unpopular with you and a few mates. LOL.

Avellino only in your dreams can you outsmart me in an argument that is sports related.

People don't like Hamilton because he is arrogant ?? How so ? If you look through history you will see that in this country anyone at the top gets abused. Hamilton is at the top of a very elitist sport - it is natural for people to dislike him as a result of his colour no less.

The Williams sisters have to endure it and I dare say Tiger Woods had to as well.

There are numerous reports from people suggesting Usain Bolt is arrogant, why ? Because he likes to do his "lightning bolt" and he dances at the end of races ??? When has he showed contempt or arrogance ?

People in Britain expect sports people to be plucky Brits, smile, be humble and shut up. Its as if you you are not supposed to enjoy being the best at what you do, you should be embarrassed by your God given talent and be like the anonymous man on the street.

NONSENSE.

A classic of this is Prince Naseem Ahmed or Chris Eubanks, they were amazing showmen who brought the "bling" back to British boxing - they were hated by what seemed to be most of Joe Public, simple minded oafs who can't separate showmanship from reality. Its people like Hamilton, Woods and Bolt who put bums on seats, Showmen like Rossi who try to entertain. They are disliked because they are so successful by petty British people who are simply jealous.

<laugh>

So let me get this straight, your argument on the public's perceived view of Hamilton's popularity is based on the opinion of you and some of your mates ?? <doh>

I do not believe you would come to an argument armed with such rubbish.

There was me thinking you had performed a study of some kind, or had some kind of referenceable metric we could look at. Pathetic !

That's not a counter-argument, that's sarcasm.

Avellino, you can't continue the argument because I made you look like an idiot friend !

You said he is hardly liked by Britsh sports fans apart from F1 fans - what you meant was he is hardly liked by you and your mates.

This is comedy gold right here, <laugh> the very premise of your argument is based on an opinion of you and your mates but carries to include the British public as a whole <laugh>

There was no public debate, no poll, no vote, no survey .. just you and your mates having discussions <laugh>

Take this you oaf <flan><flan>
